Yeah the max tow package gives 3.73. I don’t feel the jeep is scary slow. I do floor it often around town. But anything on the interstate, the 3.21 is perfect. I was okay with 22mpg doing 75-80.
How the hell were you getting that?! I averaged 15.5 over 800 miles with the 3.21s and all

Nothing can ever replace the purple C5Z :poorvette: emoji IMO, but adding :jeep: makes a lot of cents!

Did you drive the auto or :manuel: I’d like to hear more on your gear ratio experiences, since all i drove were 3:21
Yup, which is why I promptly walked out of the diller. I mostly wanted to get a little seat time.

Both JK and JKU were auto's, with the JKU having the 3.21's. The JKU was omg slow, merging onto a 60mph highway from a dead stop was a little nerve racking. I don't want to have to floor the thing to leave a stop light. The 3.73s seemed to be pretty well matched with the 32 inch tarz and auto trans. Test drives weren't that long, but got a mix of some highway and local road driving.

For my purposes and wants, I'd get the 3.73's otherwise I'm throwing $1200 at a re-gear. Willy's seems to be the way to go for me; going to check another diller and see what they feel like doing since they have 70 something JKU's in stock.
The willys package is really solid. Best way to get a Jeep IMO, as it packs a lot of the Rubicon goodies in a cheaper package. But you're guaranteed 3.73 gears and LSD rear.

3.21 was horrible, I agree. 3.73 would be mandatory for me.

Apex wrote:Hit the local :dillerman: and test drove a JKU and JK. JKU was a sport with 3.21's and the JK was a Willy's. Got some initial numbers on the Willy's because 3.73s are absolutely necessary on these, the 3.21s are an abomination of a gear ratio.

MSRP: $36.670
Lease Sale Price: $35,136
48 months, 12k miles a year
$2,000 down
$428/month

Apparently a JKU would be ~$350/month
That is awful. $23k to rent the car for four years when it'll depreciate $5k in that time.

I get like 21 in the :poorvette: now that I'm in the 'burbs, got 14 when I lived downtown.

The only exception was the :turboyaris: , I got a lifetime average of 29.x.

I'll try to be good about tracking my mileage in the Heep. I just used the built in calculator in the GTI.. You guys use gasbuddy or some app like that, or just keep a physical log somewhere?

I use Fuelly.

That's what I just set up too  I was gonna download their recommended GasCubby app, but it's $5.99 :scrooge: I'll just log into Fuelly whenever I fill up and input my fueling myself.

Download Gastracker+ - it's essentially a Fuelly app.
Sweet. THanks man. Can you sync it to Fuelly? Or would I just use that as a stand alone and then input to fuelly after the fact if I feel like doing that.

Any reason you want the JK over the JL? :scrooge: :dill: ?

Nice thing with Jeeps is that they will largely be quite similar.
