Remove the cladding, swap the for some steelies and knobby tires and done.
I've always wanted to road trip in one of these.
It's the right answer TBH. Needs minimal work to live in, mostly just outside work to make more offroady. Nobody wants them so the values are pretty reasonable too. This one for $11k is great

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

Put chromecast or fire stick into the Tv, and use wifi hotspot from your phone to stay inside and watch TV
I have missed some of this thread, but have minivans been discussed? Haven't Siennas been made in AWD? Would probably be more fuel efficient and comfy, easier to live with on long highway stretches. No brubs , and sleeping in the panel van might be nicer.

Need some bit of ground clearance. Not for wheeling, but to go a bit farther off the grid. Would be tough to do in a minivan, but the minivan is certainly the best option if that wasn't a concern.

DFD. The forum where everybody makes the same choices and then tells anybody trying to join the club that they are the stupidest motherfucker to ever walk the earth.
That camper is perfect. That thing behind a Crosstrek is /
Lets be real, that van would blow to drive for more than a few hours in. Good luck getting over the Rockies too.
