I certainly will be as well... considering I've now been carless now for nearly two months. If for some reason the BRZ or an 86 can't come to fruition pretty soon, I may say fuck it and just buy something else on the cheap.

Well bought, but I'd still rather have the V8.

That's fine. Just like my SVX, the stick wouldn't make it a sports car.

The 3 row is 340hp/370tq. Not sure if that includes any of the phev funny business but sadly the 2 row SUV isn't being showed yet. The 3 row gets shown this month. Could be a :neat: budget option if you can get passed the Mazda badge.

I was eying the CX50 limited at 38k. But it’s just such a boring thing … it looks nice and probably drives ok. But just doesn’t stimmy anything below the buckle

I have seen a few here. Proportions are weird on them. And twist beam rear suspension, no thanks.

Supposedly it has some of the best steering in the biz, of any vehicle type. Cammisa and the Throttle House Bois mentioned it. It looks great too, but the RWD platform will be worth waiting for I think.

Yep. I really dig Camisa and I usually pay attention to his commentary. It tends to be right on target 7/10.. :yikes:

To bring it back to this thread... I don't think I want to venture down a "cheap" cross over route. Even though the mazda is nice. I suppose if the Mazda had a toyota badge and a more efficient powertrain it would be a more interesting purchase.

All the time as a kid, also slippers, watermelon and snacks. As a kid when I grew up in the prince islands (good ol Antigoni). We had our local guy who sells snacks carrying 2 baskets hanging on his shoulder and now by cart once he's older, he still does it to this day and I still say hi to him. He bought a nice house with that money alone, doing it everyday for a living.

One time in Alexandropoli, my family and bunch of friends stopped by this small beach town around xmas, and we saw a clapped out Renault Traffic repeatedly saying fruits and kept driving around.
Man, those peddlers bring back memories. And yea, they were able to somehow make a living at it, too. :amaze:
I didn't know you grew up in the Prince Islands. That's pretty cool. Are they as nice as they look in pictures?
This ain't the first time I told you that. In the summers yes, but for others 10 mins with traffic to the city center and istiklal avenue. But that neighborhood has changed a lot since I left.

They look just as great as pictures. With few exceptions.

If the CX50 2.5T is anything like the CX5 2.5T, it's nowhere near as good as the reviews indicate. It's a big lazy derpmobile that's maybe a little bit less bad than the competition.

It has to be. Have you driven one? It still has a "6 speed" auto... :yikes:

I remember the engine felt strong. But the thing rode way too harsh and returned no perceptible benefit to the vehicles handling.

Mazdas insistence on a 6 speed automatic is weird. The gear spacing from 1-2 was enormous. At least the turbo had the torque to overcome it. But the NA motor had no chance. An 8 speed or more would speed the cars up with no other changes and likely return better fuel economy.

I had a new loaded CX5 for a week last fall, it's a big lazy toaster. There's nothing zoom zoom about it. Lazy transmission with economy programming and gearing, admittedly better in sport mode, sounds and feels like a diesel, terrible braking in both feel and performance, flat plastic-y seats that are neither soft nor supportive, steering is slow, ride is unnecessarily harsh due to huge :ramz: and the thing in practice hardly feels any more spacious than our hatchback... while costing almost double and driving like crap in comparison.

Maybe it's a sports car compared to a CRV?

That being said, that's a CX5 and not a CX50. I don't know the difference, they look about the same at a glance.

I don't get the CX-50. It's the same size as the CX-5 (which somehow isn't going away?) and is a FWD-based AWD based on the CX-3/3 platform. The interior is supposed to be nice, and I admit that I think it looks cool on the outside, but how it's not just a toaster otherwise is :notsure: to me.
