We may have disagreements, but we align on this axis of truth.

I don't eat Chili without meat. What would be the point of that? I'm sure af not eating tomatoes and beans only
Agreed.. I’ve never bought or made chili without meat, but I’ve seen it
I made a vegetarian chili for a vegetarian friend visiting. It was genuinely not bad. Veggie & tomato stew essentially, but loaded with beans.

Wife makes a 5/7 meatless chili. She uses 5 different kind of beans, corn, diced tomatoes, chilis, spice, etc. It's really good.

We had a chili contest at the office and I'm finding people have VERY strong opinions about beans.
I'm pro-beans, but I don't mind it without.
Are people bored to even think shit like this. I always thought beans are the norm

I always thought beans made the chili.. what else would be in it? Tomatoes and shit?

When there’s meat it’s chili con carne..

To take a quote from elsewhere, chili without beans is spaghetti sauce with different seasonings. I think the meat is more optional than the beans as an integral ingredient.
100% beans.
Fuck Texas.

Also, my wife hates beans. She still puts beans in our chili. That's love, fellas.

I think beans are fantastic, eat 'em every day pretty much. Dat plant based protein and fiber.

I make chili all the time with no beans cause the wife hates them. Then I make some with beans. The base of no meat to me seems a little wild. But to each their own.

I'm making a fairly exotic chili recipe on Sunday that features both Tri-Tip AND ground sausage. BUT WILL I ADD BEANS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT CALLED FOR?

Oh yeah. It's like $15 for a big tub of it and it's got lots of ground beef and beans. I need to get another tub of it for this weekend.

Costco stuff is good. I’m a fan of Dennison’s canned chili (con carne) too.

I feel like if there's no meat, call it 'vegetarian chili' and that's a thing. I think 'chili' includes meat and beans by default. Similarly, if no beans, call a spade a spade and say it's 'spaghetti sauce with chili seasonings'.
