Grand Cherokee got it first I believe, then the I have driven a 5700lb ram 1500 with this engine and it does admirably. And it returns 21-22 mpg in a that said... the new tuning for the 3.6+8 speed are already close to 20, i doubt the diesel will do much better... at a HUGE up front cost and 0 performance benefit. + complexity+ maintenance costs. I don't see the point.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 1:34 pmI believe you told me that the same engine was in the Ram truck. damn, so much for saving money to get a diesel for better mpgzz.

Last thing you want in a jeep is "winding out"CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 10:42 amYeah, that is one key that Jeep and a few reviewers hit on... also, the TurBro makes a bit more torque, but needs to wind out more, IIRC.

marketing baby!! But i'm betting most people that are in a market for a more economical would probably go there in a heartbeat the minute they found out, but not for the true maintenance costs. Pretty much like getting a TDI that comes with DSG, and when the 40k service comes, ohhh boy.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 1:36 pmGrand Cherokee got it first I believe, then the I have driven a 5700lb ram 1500 with this engine and it does admirably. In other words, people are looking for a long range economical cars, but not knowing much about the cost mechanical maintenance it needs in the meantime.

That I agree, but they just take advantage of the customers cluelessness or their lack education on how the trans works etc. that's what dealer is about, dat moola. But then again, fucking paid over $2k for his service, I would raise hell if they charged me that much!max225 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 1:44 pmDSG Service is $400 which is just absurdMexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 1:42 pm

So, I am not surprised now with the games they are playing with me on my order.
1 week in since I gave them the deposit and they don't have a VON for me and claim they don't have any allocation, but I am #1 on the waiting list..... I specifically asked if they had allocations before I put the deposit and they swore they did.
Clearly they don't want to place my order at the discounted price with any urgency when they are raping people.
I'm going to cancel the order with these dirtbags this morning. I can't stand people like this and refuse to buy from them. As a general rule, I never buy from dealers that do ADM.

Meanwhile in Idaho
Just talked to Kent Schurtleff formally w/ Dillons. He was the salesman that did my build. He said he has joined a new dealership in Nampa, ID. The dealership is matching Dennis Dillons jeep offer and said they are going 8%-13% under invoice with $299 processing fee. Financing through the dealership. The way Kent talked, it sounds like they are going to be very competitive to get the JLs on the road. Definitely worth checking into and they may even beat Dillons. Here is the info.
Peterson Dodge Chrysler Jeep
5801 East Gate Blvd
Nampa, ID 83687
Salesman - Kent Schurtleff
phone - 208-741-1289
email - kentschurtleff@gmail.com
8%-13% under invoice pricing
financing goes through dealer
$299 processing fee

That is a complete a$# f#$^ing. Sixteen grand ADM on a $50K Jeep that will be in mass production in a year. While ADM is despicable in all forms, I at least get it when you're sitting on 1 of 1500 Ford GTs or something like that. But something they will be making hundreds of thousands of? It's as opportunistic as looting during a natural disaster. The only people I have less respect for are individuals who would actually pay the 16 grand because they cannot wait a few months.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 6:43 amSo, I am not surprised now with the games they are playing with me on my order.

It is already in full production I believe, for the 4 door, the 2 door will ramp up in march. Pickup in November. The pickup will be built on the old JL lane which shuts down in march. That line alone has a capacity of 200k, the current line for the regular JL i think has a capacity of 300k... I think can certainly pump the market full of these if they wanted to... but the pricing is nuts.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 1:15 pmThat is a complete a$# f#$^ing. There are no financing offers
No lease offers
it is 3-5k more than the JK and the JK is discounted right off the bat making the gap 7-10k+
So whoever is buying the JL now is obviously some with more than brains... or simply finds spending an extra 10k for having the "first" worth while.

You can order juan from Potatoland for 8-13% off invoice
It won't lose value if other area are marking up $15k
There are ways to get it at a good price and overall cost of ownership. Now leasing, nah, you're probably screwed there.
