If the receiver is compatible with a Wrangler in general I wouldn’t really sweat it. The install is four large bolts that are pre drilled (assuming it’s the same as the JLU), not much that could really go wrong if it clears the bumper which it looks to do fine.
The cost is a bit annoying but they’ve gotta make their margin/San Diego rent I guess.
I didn’t do the wiring on ours either, I’ve just used it for the bike rack so far. I’ll DIY it should we need to actually tow at any point.
Yeah I’m not going to worry about it.
A) I doubt I ever tow anything
B) they guarantee all their work for the life of the vehicle, so if I ever do tow something and it fucks up, that’s on them
You're good. These receivers are super simple and beefy, there's not much to them. The Jeep can only tow 3k lbs anyway, so as long as you're within the towing capacity you'll be fine.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

Best part is nothing is missing with the front doors off! I doubt I’ll take the rear doors/roof off since those still protect the munchkin.
The sweet setup would be no doors front and half doors rear for the little one. Would look 5/7 too.
Man, I miss this. It's pretty hot here right now, all Jeeps are blown apart. One of the biggest things I miss.

Can you ask Mopar to not have JT half doors cost an arm and a leg? Please and thank you.
Love me some half door action.
Yea, that's the downside. Half doors are money, and they're really not that usable all the time. The only time I'd really recommend them is like this when you want to keep the little one more protected.

We’re getting some lightly sprinkling rain.. I want my tops off
Wow, really? That June gloom perhaps.
It hasn't rained in weeks here, and there's none on the horizon. Crazy.

Yeah just June Gloom. I’ll wait until next weekend or the following one then open her up.

Take em off. It's not real rain. We're in the worst drought in 100 years as of now... So enjoy the doors off before the fires start.
Last weekend we had a fire danger warning and a fire ban. In northern meatchicken that's a BIG DEAL. It never happens. It feels like Arizona here, 90 no humidity and no rain. And that's the forecast for the next 10 days plus. Lake Michigan water levels are down several feet from last year since we had no snow or rain this winter. The world is baking off the plague that we are.

We had weeks and weeks with no rain here, finally getting some good downpours yesterday and today. I went out for a bike ride this morning in 100% humidity...

We have gotten some good top down action in the Beep Beep
We are taking it to the Outer Banks next month Jeepin’ on the beach is pretty epic.
We are hitting OBX next month too. Corollas this time, we usually do Duck or Southern Shores. Not looking forward to the extra traffic but what's done is done. Wife unit would not be denied.
We rented a Beetle dune buggy last time it was cool as hell.
