I asked the :dillerman: for an update yesterday, I got this in response:

:dillerman: - Not yet. When I checked Friday they told me the targeted production week was this coming up week. The order is currently broadcasted meaning it's in line to be built.

So, hopefully sometime this week or next. So delivery may be a bit before the end of October.
IIRC, it takes about 2-3 weeks between production and delivery.

Melon wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2017 2:35 pm I went to two dillerships today.

Let me preface this by saying, I went to both, stated I wasn't going to buy, and just wanted to look.
I am a polite :melon:

GMC:
Went and test drove an SLT (Which I'm considering)
And talked numbers, with options and the possibility of ordering.
After about 15 min, I had talked to 4 different sales managers, and before I left, I had to say "No, I'm just looking." several times.
:dillerman: trying to :dill: hard.
When I was leaving I was surrounded by 4 sales managers.
:bruh: :dillerman: pushing the hard :dill:
Not super annoyed, just super pushy.

I left and went to a Chebby :dillerman:

Chevy:

Same speal, I said I just wanted to look in a Z71, see how much I liked the interior, and trim.
Salesman and I walk out, he's bitching about his hurt foot, sorry breh, take the golf cart?

We get in the truck, I look around, and play with the Infotainment, basic bitch shit.
He gives me a few options on the packages, and I goto shake his hand, and thank him for his time.
Me: Let me get your card, so I can get in tough with you
Him: Man! I ain't got no cards, it's Saturday, I'm out here to sell cars!

He rushed out, and then walked off to talk to another customer.

:bruh: I am a :disappoint: :melon:
O wow. Can there be no middle ground?
Credit where credit is due, after my initial visit getting bombarded with :dillerman: 's , the one :dillerman: at the GMC :dill: -ership has been top notch.

GM: we can physically build a car in a day and a half, but it takes 3 weeks to deliver. :disappoint:

They load them up onto rail cars at the assembly plants onto rail cars that look like this:

The business my grandparents ran/operated took them off the rail car:

Their business was named "Ramp Operation"
Very fitting.

They would park them in a lot, and the trucks would come and load them up and take them to each dealership.

Not just trucks, my grandfather took us down to see some of the first Vipers, new C5 Corvette.
They did GM and Chrysler, not Ford.

I found some pictures from the late 1980's when they first bought the business.

Here was the Port Allen location. They had 3 at one time, all over the US.
It's how we ended up in BR, it was the central location.

Holy shit, I had no clue that's what that actually was. Everytime I go over the bridge I think of how massive of a used car lot they've got running there (as an internal joke to myself)

For those who want to try and ruin my fun:

Truck is going to be in next weekend.
Already got a loan for it, unsecured, 60mo, 2.99% APR.

Proceed to tell me how every decision I've made in life thus far is wrong, oh yee posters of DFD.
