The Local defender in question is still available... occasionally used ones pop up under 100k... which seems decent.
I am still what kind of "family" car to get to replace the IX...
IX by trading in the I4 still seems like the most viable option if I can get out of the I4 without paying.
V8 Defender
RS6 (seems way too expensive for what it is)
E450 wagon (seems too small compared to an SUV and the same price as a defender)
G550/63 still overpriced and dropping at 10k a month
Macan likely too small
Cayenne...
maybe a Mach E ? But the woman hates it because of the badge... and likely not that big of a back seat for CF+Dog

The starting MSRP on an E450 is $71K. How is that V8 Defender territory? It's your best option in terms of everything. If you think you need more space then you are admitting that CF are going to turn you into a different person.......If you can't put one kid, one dog and two adults into a station wagon pray to the Virgin Mary for help. Or just buy a rocket box.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 3:07 pm https://www.colelandrover.com/inventory ... 0P2189066/

Why would I compare a V8 defender to an I6 station wagon. I6 defender is just about the same price. Most wagons are around 80k. Same price as a well equipped e450.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 3:52 pmThe starting MSRP on an E450 is $71K. How is that V8 Defender territory? It's your best option in terms of everything. I can probably fit everyone into my 2 door mini. But that doesn’t mean I want to.
From some who is commandeering a SS Chevrolet land boat I don’t think I’m following the heat due to my desire for space.

I was just going by your list bro. V8 Defender is on the list. I6 Defender is not. E450 assumes keeping the Tacoma.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 3:56 pmWhy would I compare a V8 defender to an I6 station wagon. I6 defender is just about the same price. Most wagons are around 80k. Concede that my current fleet battle cruiser takes me out of the running for Captain BrownEuroWagonUberAlles.

Correct that’s because a V8 merc wagon is like 150-180k which is completelyDesertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 4:11 pmI was just going by your list bro. V8 Defender is on the list. I6 Defender is not. E450 assumes keeping the Tacoma.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 3:56 pm

This is a cool car but I think it's a little too cool for crotchfruit puke and dog hair and other indignities.

Well that's what these things are designed to be. Cool family cars... but I can't justify deep 6 figures for an audi wagon with likely no more usable space than my I4. I don't actually need more trunk space... I really need 37"+ of rear backseat space. I think that's the top requirement. Rear AC is second.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 5:02 pmhttps://www.audiusa.com/us/web/en/model ... rview.html

What did he get after ?
My main issues are ...
TTV8 is likely an epic bitch to service...
22" wheels are just atrociously large and require $3000 worth of tires every 24 months.
Audi tech is really out of date.

911 and a used luxo daily. He currently has a new S8.
The 21" wheels look better than the 22s anyways. His biggest takeaway was that 90% of the time it felt like a regular A/S6
Yeah the RS6 is very cool but just too much money for an all in one compromise car. You could rock the E series wagon and a Porsche for the same price and both would be better, one at practicality, one at fun and performance.

I'm sure you aren't willing to give CHYNA a try but the EX90 starting price was just released. $78k which seems
Not sure I'd take one over a Rivian though. The base R1S IMO is still king under 90-100k

That is pretty good looking.
Agreed on the R1S , is that a consideration here or are you not into the 'start up' situation? I see them all the time now, they're really making waves.
Also the Cyber is 'coming'
