SHIT YES SON. Gas burner basically lights your logs, and keeps them going, and ensures complete burn. And if the wood its a little moist, ZFG. Though you should still use properly seasoned wood to prevent creosote and tar buildup in your chimney.
:dat:

As long as you have a chimney that's clean, open the flute and roll with it.

I'd need to get a chimney guy out. No clue if it's clean.

:dat: my in-laws had one at their old place. Run it till the fire is raging. Kill it till the last few minutes to burn everything up.
This sounds 5/7.

A cleaning and inspection should be a couple hundred bucks.

I can't just take the ceramic logs off and replace with wood, can I?

I dont see why not, just make sure you leave space around the burner so you get a good complete burn on the gas before it hits the wood

dang, you are right.

a x1.25 scale worked perfectly for the "m3" z4 analong....

the "z3" aka RDX analong was more like 1.15, i iterated down on "close enough"

ITS A SLOW AS ALL FUCK DAY

Image

SCALE CORRECTED FOR GROM AND CARZ

maybe I should put grom straight back between cars? or ill have to move up the z more for space...

but do i really want to do 'shop' work with the z there, so does it matter if its pulled up?

Can do the the same thing to those, put a sheet of MDF on them, and replace it when it gets dirty.

Looks like you have space for a real bench. IIRC mine was like $70 and a few hours with a saw.
