Other than maybe shopping and some history. Places like Milan and Rome doesn't make it

Greece is better in every way and western parts of Turkey.
On-topic, off-topic, who cares!

Yep and it sucks for them just as much, I’m sure they don’t want to sit there either and from what I understand they get paid the same for the flight whether it’s actually 90 minutes or 400 minutes.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Sat Jul 12, 2025 4:09 pmThe more im hearing from AA the more iming their flights at all costs. Also I hear they get paid less compared to united, delta, southwest etc. They're (especially the attendant gave you the

In the hotel i do tend to notice a pattern of extensive delays, but then again its all mostly from DCA which is no surpriseD Griff wrote: ↑Sat Jul 12, 2025 5:31 pmYep and it sucks for them just as much, I’m sure they don’t want to sit there either and from what I understand they get paid the same for the flight whether it’s actually 90 minutes or 400 minutes.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Sat Jul 12, 2025 4:09 pm

Oh that was super close to where I stayed, right next to Palmer Alley. The amount of Instagram photos I ruined dragging my luggage around was unbelievable.

You’d probably make more money being an HVAC guy charging $250 for the service plan that changes out a $5 air filter twice a year.golftdibrad1 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 7:48 am Jo's Garage split reminded me to tell my split story from the weekend.
Story time!
Recall I DIY'd (with help, more for manpower than lack of skill) my house ac project to ditch the central system that perhaps was not even able to be replaced in situ for minisplits. They have been humming along fine, and friends come over and marvel at the comforts of modern technology. Cost gets brought up alot so I get to gloat about the DIY and yuge amount of cheddar saved.
One of these friends asked to help me install / replace his dead split unit. It was run to his upstairs living room, and he wanted to move it to a shared wall with his bedroom that is a converted patio. The outside unit was basically sitting on the ground and tipped over because of wind and the hill it was on when the wood used to shim it rotted out. Prob burned up the compressor sitting in its side. So the hole in the house and the power were all ready run. 220v unit.
I told him what unit to order, but the longer lineset we needed was out of stock. I told him about the guy I used to help install my finial unit that is a dealer could maybe have in stock and get cheaper, and he did. Timing is important here, b/c hes tryin to sell his house and I have precious few free weekends these days - this was the only day I'm free to help for like a month.
So we demoed out the old, ran the new lines, mounted the new head, etc, etc... installed a proper wall mount into the masonry, wrapped lines, etc. Super clean install if i do say so myself.
So once it was sucked down, valves opened, leak checked, etc (BTW r-454b is going for 3k for 5 lb, dont fuck this up if you diy...).... we powered it up and.... no cold air. The head eventually throws a communication error. I go down to the outside unit to start to check connections.... and i smelled it. I start checking the wiring and this fucker sold him a 110v unit. WTF. Would have been a nice heads up... and my buddy should have checked to see that he got what he ordered...and I should have double checked as well. I was trying to get the thing doneI was honestly ever so slightly annoyed that the demo at least wasn't in progress when i arrived, but alas.
So off to the home store to get a 110v breaker... got back and installed that in the panel and the unit was of course fried. Further investigation revealed blown up capacitor on the main board, and i'm sure other blown up shit due to getting 2x the voltage it wanted. Called dealer guy and a conversation was had.... he had an extra unit that he replaced with a good board on hand. Apparently, right now, its cheaper to buy whole new pre-charged units than to refill the gas if there is a leak at the connections. So anyway he had one. I bailed at this point since this 1/2 day project has now sucked up the WHOLE day while my buddy went and got the part.
He plugged everything up and it worked and has been humming along since.
This is a lesson I should have learned from helping people work on cars and telling them what to order, and they never seem to get right is, just order the shit myself and have them pay me back. That way I can do receipt inspection myself and identify and/or resolve these issues before install day.
Anyway, if the engineer thing dont work outI can always fall back to being an HVAC guy.
Yes, I remember it was near the convention center. We were that close, although i was in Delaware that weekend.
I just booked 4 nights at The Westin in Wilmington for my friend's wedding. Was still $200/night with their block discount. WackMexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 6:41 pmYes, I remember it was near the convention center. We were that close, although i was in Delaware that weekend.
Wilmington, DE? Yeah… it’s not worth that much.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 7:22 pmI just booked 4 nights at The Westin in Wilmington for my friend's wedding. Was still $200/night with their block discount. WackMexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 6:41 pm
