Fender is on Autobahn and R. Leather is optional on SE.

S: no PP, DSG/Manuel option
SE: PP, DSG/manual option, plaid/leather option, no adaptive cruise, no fender
Autobahn: PP, dsg/manual option, plaid/leather option, fender standard, adaptive cruise standard
So from now on, a non S has PP as standard??
And all gti came with leds as standard now too. Its kinda the same thing for 2010 gti when things were alacarte for options.
I lied.

Here is the :fax:

2018 GTI S: $26,415 MSRP (without DSG)
- MK7 Austin wheels standard :flaccid:
- No PP :flaccid:
- No LP :flaccid:
- No moonroof :flaccid:
- Plaid standard :notbad:
- Smaller screen infotainment with buttons, not as good looking as stock MK7 :flaccid:

2018 GTI SE: $30,470 MSRP (without DSG)
- MK7.5 Dallas wheels standard :notbad:
- PP standard :fuckyeah:
- LP standard :fuckyeah:
- Plaid standard, Leather optional ($695) :notbad: because CHOICES!
- New infotainment/head unit :fuckyeah: (but not the 8" one :flaccid: )
- Moonroof standard :fuckyeah:
- No adaptive cruise control/parking sensors :flaccid:
- No Fender audio :flaccid:

2018 GTI Autobahn: $35,070 MSRP (without DSG)
- MK7.5 Dallas wheels standard :notbad:
- PP standard :fuckyeah:
- LP standard :fuckyeah:
- 8" infotainment :fuckyeah:
- Leather standard, No Plaid Option :flaccid:
- Adaptive Cruise Control & Parking Sensors Standard :fuckyeah:
- Fender standard :fuckyeah:

See if we can pull a wheel lock switcheroo btw. :notsure:

Funny thing is. I was originally gonna get an S, but I test drove an SE spec, and i thought “this is it”, it wasn’t really the sales guy that pushed me, but i wanted the sunroof and better stereo (at that point i thought vw stock stereos are shit, something i learned on dead forum). But when i heard rudy’s non-fender stereo, it definitely sounded better than my dads explorer for sure. Except when i was fucking around with his head unit, it felt weird not finding the subwoofer lol. I got soo used to that lol.

Never been one for treating/washing my own car, but picked up about $75 worth of Chemical Guys car care products.

1. Waterless wash
2. Quick detailer
3. Interior cleaner/detailer
4. Tire shine
5. Wheel cleaner
6. Microfiber towels
7. Applicator pads

Also stocked up on some McGuiers products that helped me out with the mk6 paint scratches:
1. Ultimate compound
2. Ultimate polish
3. Scratch X
4. PlasticX

All in all this is overkill for the type of stuff I do on my own but i think it’s a good entry point into the self cleaning world that I can take with me and eventually end up :waxer: my own car

Don't rub the paint or plastic surfaces much/at all if you can help it. I'm notorious for love marks but have been getting better as I learn more.

yea, my goal is to have car professionally detailed 4 times a year (ideally once before the onset of every "season") and then have maintenance washes every month, with every week being me doing some work on my own, primarily with the supplies listed from Chemical Guys, not McGuiers.

I don’t think i never spent that much on detailing stuff since i got my mk6, #notacarenthusiast

But i do have the chemical guys stripper scent.

Edit: actually scratch that, it was more like 85-90 total since ‘14. Mostly for interior cleaning, soap, tire/wheel, window cleaner, microfibers and thats about it

Allowable after we get to 5 bloo out of 7 truktwins doe.
Yea, but Deepwood is no longer in production.

Satin steel is :notbad: :doe:

Shameless post of my GoRf as I wait by the front lobby of a client for my contact person to show up.

I'm really happy with my choice to go CR70 all around, windshield included. It fits the look of the car perfectly IMO and gives a clear but comfortable UV free view of the world even at night or during rainy/dreary mornings like today was.

This picture/lighting shows off the true tone of the tint film accurately.Image

My local :dillerman: is giving me 2 R keyfob baseplates from their dsg car in stock.

The diller they pulled my R from is notriously terrible at PDI and of course the fob plates were not included. I voiced my concern about PDI from the other diller. They assured my they would double check the car upon arrival. My local diller was clueless until I showed them their own car had the plates in the glove box.

I give then the p/n to order. they agree. I get a text this morning saying show up and take the plates from their car... So that mean the next owner buying a $40k hatch back will likely not know and be plate-less..

I will leave a great review once I get my damn registration and plates. Zach was great, Jim finance bro is lining me up a cockmeat sammich.

Also, I hate to brag but I did get Zach a thank-you-gift. I shall also treat him to some beers next time I see him.
