Fuel pumps are a 5 minute job to do yourself.

When they replace fuel injectors and coils, did they have the engine open, and carbon cleaning?

Absolutely do not pay the $500.

Remind them of the fact that they gave you the car back and as you were leaving the check engine light started flashing immediately. That's one red flag.

They also replaced fuel injectors, and had the intake manifold off, as well as a carbon cleaning service you paid for. They had the engine open enough to cause issues. Within miles of taking the car back, these issues start.

Yeah, that doesn't compute. Those are two totally different, non dependent things. Clearly trying to get money out of you while they warranty something that doesn't make them much, if any, coin.

Effectively, this. They just had the car for several days for fuel related issues. If they screwed something up with the fuel system - first low pressure, then high pressure - and caused it to run so lean it melted itself, this is on them.

Remind them that the car didn't even leave the dealership before lights were flashing. This car was obviously not thoroughly QC'd or road tested after "completion".
