In the prototype class with a couple minutes to go, second place car made an agressive move on the brakes going into turn 1 and got a fender on the inside. 1st place car came down on him and spun out.
It was aggressive, but not dirty IMO, especially when considering the time left in the race. The 1st place car left the door open for the 2nd place car to take the chance.
Agreed. I didn't get what the issue was. 2nd place car had position. 1st place car either didnt see him or challenged him because he thought he would yield.
My guess is that he didn't see him. 2nd place was a long way behind and 1st place likely didn't expect him to close that kind of distance on the brakes. That said the 2nd place car appeared to be in control during the manuever... i.e. I didn't appear to be a Gran Turismo style punt manuever.
As the only published author in a well-known motorcycle publication in the room...
Yeah, people were bitching about it being a dick move, but I think Taylor assumed he would stick to the outside, and the leader's spotter didn't let him know he was being passed on the inside fast enough.
It's so cheap. My plans fell apart for 2016, but I'd planned to do it. $200 return flight, $130/night for a hotel room and a cheap rental car. Rolex ticket is $50 for a Sat/Sun infield/all access pass. Fly down Friday night, fly home around 8pm on Sunday from Orlando.
DFD meatup should rent an RV that we can park in the infield and all weekend.
I'm totes in for this.

I'm a fucking failure.
No windshield. Fucking stupid. I wonder how many tragic events it'll take for them to change that? I've never been into F1, indy, or nascar.
No its racing. Pretty much all racing is stupid. Just like no windshield motorcycles LOL. Its F1 its racing. You dont have to watch. Posted for those interested.

Watching F1 qualifying this morning...I wish they'd bring back the V10/12 engines. The cars are faster this year, but the sound is
I never made it to see them at Indy and now have little interest in checking them out at COTA (or zero interest when cost is taken into account). Cool track though, I'll make it there one of these days for a non-F1 event.
24hours Nurburgring live stream. Great race!!! You can select onboards with various cars as well!
Toyota GT86's entered among other smaller sports machines in the lowest class. Interesting array of cars entered, STi etc plus the usual major suspects.
