Bike, scooter, stroller, crib, cooler, baby gate, toys, diapers, and all the clothing and stuff for a week at the beach. The accord was absolutely stacked but it did it better than the CRV. I need a roof rack.
55 MPG going down the shore with all this shit and the whole fam clearly the over weight limit.
Or trade it in for an Outback Wilderness. I’m warming up to them. Shame the CVT was so crappy. But I’m seeing more of them around now and they look pretty bitchin in white.

The cucktrek lease is on the horizon and it may get replaced with the current gen outback.

Crib and toys first. Bike and gate on top of that. Only things we couldn’t fit were the beach chairs.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 12:39 amThats prettyJohnny_P wrote: ↑Sat Jun 28, 2025 2:35 pm

Which i assumed you put the back in first push all the way forward. My trek need a tlc and i may consider getting a REI co-op "MTB" still in 3 figures about how much I bought my trek, have
use it if we ride together. We're upgrading to a 1 bedroom + den in the same building. So more storage and overall a larger apt.

As a matter of fact, we did a double date weekend getaway out in Shenandoah and they happen to drive the same spec crv as you guys. He was impressed my accord just swallows it, before we were debating which car to take.

I will. I definitely will. I witnessed with my uncle having their baby in our roadtrip. He had to drive like a grandma on his Macan S while I was hypermiling right behind them my grandpa's Megane diesel, was still in my late 20's too :sigh:max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 1:20 pmsaver these days young AnakinMexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 1:08 pm

So results are in for the beach vacay. 55 mpg going there with a tail wind. 48 mpg coming home with a head wind. 65-70 on the highways so not super grandma.
Yeah I dunno. The car is pretty comfy and works for a road trip pretty nicely. Trunk is enormous in this. We were more comfy in it than in the CRV due to more space. I like the mpg and responsiveness. It’s super smooth driving. It’s certainly quick enough for a daily and never feels slow. The big ass CarPlay screen is great.
It’s low and tough to see out due to tiny side windows so Lisa scratched another wheel while parking it. Small scratch so I’ll just touch it up myself. But it’s a bit of a stressor to drive in tight areas or unfamiliar places because you can’t NFG it around like you can the CRV. Like in that if you run over a curb who cares. But in this it does wheel and side skirt damage. This thing and even the Civic would be shit city cars.
Again, it’s working for now. But I’d like to trade it for a higher up SUV style vehicle in a few years. Palisade hybrid looks awesome as does the new 4Runner. And I do like the outback if you can get one with a light interior, turbo, and no driver monitoring system. My friends in Utah had a Solterra and holy fuck that thing was nonstop beeping and throwing warnings to look at the road.

Seems like a pretty great car overall really, the MPG is heroic.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 10:20 am So results are in for the beach vacay. 55 mpg going there with a tail wind. 48 mpg coming home with a head wind. 65-70 on the highways so not super grandma.

There are some frustrations but yes overall it’s good at just being a car. The 10th gen was better built and much nicer. They de contented a lot of stuff on this gen. No HD radio, no satellite radio, even worse speakers, no rear air vents, no rear USB ports, rear headrests are now fixed vs adjustable, 2-way driver lumbar vs 4-way, cheaper materials throughout the cabin, no more fog lights. There’s more but those are the big ones.D Griff wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 5:30 pmSeems like a pretty great car overall really, the MPG is heroic.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 10:20 am So results are in for the beach vacay. 55 mpg going there with a tail wind. 48 mpg coming home with a head wind. 65-70 on the highways so not super grandma.

The problem with current Hondas is although they’re really good overall and fixed the goofy looks and dashboards, the prior gen cars were better. They’re taking steps back when everyone else is taking steps forward.
