Carvana offer on the 86 updated last night… $32.2k - pretty dope - I might do it. I’ve used it once this month, ran some errands Monday.
We won’t be a one car family for long but I may just sell it and reassess on the replacement a couple months down the line. I still think I’d get way more use out of something four door fun the whole family can ride in and will need that in a couple of months regardless for the Graco.
You should do this.......like today. There are so many non-seppuku cars you can buy that are more family friendly and pocket the change.
Yeah I’m kinda thinking yeah. I’m sad though, always wanted a whorange sports car. Still kinda want an STI more than anything else, someday I’ll drive things maybe.
I’d like a Golf R too but I just feel like a VW is such a bad buy, big depreciation, lackluster reliability…
I’ll probably inherit his though. It looks exactly like that but auto. I’m the closest thing to a son he has, the step sons/siblings wouldn’t know a wrench from a screwdriver and have zero interest in cars from what I can tell (one has a 300k mile RAM hand me down, one a Chevy Cruze).

So I have a rental Jetta this week… the capacitive stuff is honestly fine… like I’m not in love with it but it works and really is NBD.
The transmission is terrible but it’s otherwise a pretty nice little commuter.

have you tried it? I just don't see why it's so offensive. Is it worse than a knob? Yep, but it's very marginal. How often are you really changing the HVAC per drive, a couple times? It didn't bother me.

I haven't driven the Jetta with the full capacitive hvac panel, but I didn't find the capacitive steering wheel buttons in the MK8 GTI to be a problem at all. The slide function for volume actually worked really well. I did absolutely HATE the sliders under the screen, though. It takes a way more deliberate touch to get the desired change than a simple fucking knob.
