If Coogles, Griff, and Max all buy GTIs I might have to join them. I’d be down with a Pomelo yellow DSG Autobahn.
They are all coming off lease now (The Pomelos) and I low key that color. Too bad they are first model year...

How bad is street parking at the new home? I’d just street park the Atlas and NFG it man.
Street parking is no problem other than my perhaps irrational fear that someone is going to hit it. Our driveway narrows to be one car wide as it goes past the house, so you can't park in the driveway without blocking in the other cars.

GoRf or bust!
I do like me some AWD. Price point is way too high though. And Pomelo is honestly the only way I’d be interested in a GTI.

Yeah it sounds like 2024/2025?? got a nice update to the chassis dynamics and it’s a world of difference. Or something. I dunno. Honestly I’d take a CUV over a GTI but I’d be tempted if everyone jumped back into the egg carton.

Carvana offer on the 86 updated last night… $32.2k - pretty dope - I might do it. I’ve used it once this month, ran some errands Monday.
We won’t be a one car family for long but I may just sell it and reassess on the replacement a couple months down the line. I still think I’d get way more use out of something four door fun the whole family can ride in and will need that in a couple of months regardless for the Graco.
You should do this.......like today. There are so many non-seppuku cars you can buy that are more family friendly and pocket the change.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.

2025 is the refresh. But they literally just glued an ipad to the dash and backlit the VW sign. No real chassis updates. The chassis has basically been the same since the mk5 ... Yea yea Mk7 is really the big step up and since then it has been marginally tweaked to be a bit better and better every little update... Mk 7.5<Mk8<Mk8.5(you are here).
The pomelos are limited to 2022 models, and I think I have seen a few 40th anniversary (Bare bones) 2023 models with that color as well.

I watched some savage geese video on the (I can’t remember the year but I think it was) 2024 model GTI and they said it was amazingly different and kept praising the way it went around corners. They changed something with the dampers or whatever. The car was a manual but they said get the DSG… I think for 25 they’re all DSG so it must have been 24.

The MK8 actually came with quite a few updates in terms of driving dynamics. I don't think anything has changed since 2022, doe. Supposedly the MK8.5 Golf R is has received some electronic tweaks to the AWD setup that take it up a level, and it has a bit more power for 2025 as well.

My only thing with GTIs is I would just factor in new RAMZ at the time of purchase. The stock ramz are diabolically ugly.
The 380s ramz and the Autobahn ramz and the Anniversary ramz are all good looking... as are the Golf R ramzs for 25+

I like these wheels.
Okay, I admit there are some exceptions, I haven't catalogued the last 6 years of wheel styles. These are cool. But I would be PREPARED to buy new ramz if I liked the but hated the ramz. Also, no ALL black ramz, ever. No can do.

Nah man, your statement made me look because there are definitely wheels I have seen that I feel the same as you about. "Hard No."
