Ah yes, I know that feeling well, unfortunately. It is weird. However, the first time I experienced that I remember that my feet were really cold and they immediately warmed up - from the inside out. So there was one positive, lol.
Dem bicicletas dos, doe.

Thanks Johnny.
The heart is free and clear. 0 on the plaque score, no abnormalities with arteries or veins to/from the heart, all good. Begs the question - why in hell have I been experiencing chest pain and

Fuck yeah dude. Glad to see you got that 0 score.
It wouldn’t answer the crappy cardio, but when I was 18-19 I started having really bad chest pains and went to the ER at one point thinking I was having a heart attack. They ran a ton of tests and I went back over several weeks to get hooked up to EKGs and they never found anything wrong with my heart. It turned out the cartridge connecting my ribs to my sternum was inflamed. Costochondritis. I wonder if your pain is something similar. May be worth asking your doctor about. They had me take an anti-inflammatory for a week or so and it never came back.

Thanks everybody!
That actually would make a ton of sense. I've definitely had some moments where it feels like I can't get a full breath, it happens most often when I'm driving for whatever reason, could be something to do with being seated and kind of scrunched up. The office hasn't called me about my results yet - they just posted them to MyChart - but I'll be sure to ask about this. Thanks bruv.SAWCE wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 10:14 am Fuck yeah dude. No problem! Hopefully it’s something simple like that.coogles wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 2:38 pm Thanks everybody!

Really appreciate the well-wishes guys.
Definitely excited to get back to the cardio work. I'll have to ease back into it but it's felt si weird the last 6 weeks or so not being able to run or ride at all.

First cardio sesh in 6 weeks in the books, and it felt weird. Legs are still a bit toasted from a pretty tough day at the gym on Monday, but that doesn't account for all of it. No more chest pain and no more issues with my heart rate not wanting to come up, but every second or third breath feels like I can't fill up my lungs all the way. That plus 6 weeks off the bike and what was my zone 2 left me with plenty of time with my heart rate in zone 3.
Costochondritis seems like a very real possibility.

It sounds like recovering from that was pretty reasonable for :saawce: , hopefully it's something you can knock out quick. Does it feel like breathing during cardio in the extreme cold? That always kills me.

Right? Funny that no one raised that as a possibility at all.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 8:24 am Gotta love when your doctors can't help you out but your body builder buddy on the internet has your back![]()

I've never had an issue with cardio in the cold, I usually love it, actually. Running with a light dusting of snow on the ground is just about my favorite thing ever, the way your feet sort of slip with every stride, going back to dry pavement feels really strange.
This almost feels like I have a corset on, like my rib cage can't expand circumferentially with every breath.

That sounds all too familiar. I’d pop an OTC anti-inflammatory daily for a week or so and see if things feel less constricted.coogles wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 9:56 amRight? Yet another example of the need to take your medical needs into your own hands and start asking questions when things don't add up clearly.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 8:24 amGotta love when your doctors can't help you out but your body builder buddy on the internet has your backcoogles wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 8:08 am First cardio sesh in 6 weeks in the books, and it felt weird. Yes, but my symptoms have changed dramatically over these last six weeks. In the days following that FTP test I did, I had some pretty intense pain right around my heart fairly consistently, and it intensified with any sort physical exertion. My heart rate was consistently lower than normal, and wouldn't rise over about 120bpm without me feeling like I was going to faint. What never added up is that it isn't common to have a heart issue like that pop up after a bout of exercise, but the low heart rate and exercise intolerance is a telltale sign of blood flow restriction to the heart and needed to be investigated.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 11:43 amYet another example of the need to take your medical needs into your own hands and start asking questions when things don't add up clearly.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 8:24 am
