Yeah I used to use it a lot back in the day. Canned if I was in a pinch for time, and my own in a slow cooker if I had time for it. Variety of beans and veggies, then some extra lean ground beef and some seasoning.. can’t go wrong

So, we ended up no chili for the bowl.
Also, I am not doing takeout ever again, especially from a restaurant that Ive loved for years. I spent $88 for cold food and I completely regret it and kinda took it out on
cause she didnt feel like cooking.

I hate the takeout craze. If I'm closing in on $100 for a meal, may as well just go out and enjoy the food warm on a real plate.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 10:17 pm So, we ended up no chili for the bowl.

Its not so much that I dont think they belong, its that most people add too much and / or undercook them fucking up what could be a good thing. The principle components of chili should be meat and tomato. When we do make chili with beans, them bitches are canned and precooked, cooked some more into a soft mush. We will either not use beans or add one can to a pot we eat on for 2-3 days. Filler in chili should be just as much if not more onions & peppers. Im not strictly keto anymore but I do try to keep carbs under 50-75g a day and unrefined (ie root veg, rice, beans).

God this, 1000% this. Exception: Chinese, somehow it always stays hot.D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:50 amI hate the takeout craze. I fucking HATE going to get or having delivered expensive ass food at 50+ dollars that is now coldish, soggy from condensation, and overall worse than it would have been at restaurant. More than one argument has been had in our domicile over this shit, esp when we were single income. Its such a waste. In the delivery case, we could have also just gone and ordered it and be eating sooner 90% of the time too. And don't get me started on the number of times fast food delivery has just outright failed to ever fucking show up.
We have gotten alot better about meal prepping and having a few good frozen meals on deck to not need to do this for quick food during the very busy weeknights now. I'd much rather go have a nice meal once a week where we spend 60-100 bucks than shitty take out at 30-40 a pop 4 nights a week too. Its also way healthier to cook at home.

I’ve been hitting DoorDash way too frequently lately. Generally get fine service and hot food. But damn the service fees and delivery charges on top of prices that the app already inflates make it fucking expensive. We agreed last night that we’re taking a break from it for a long while.
I did get wingstop off of it last night. Michelle added on a blizzard from DQ, and the wings came hit and the ice cream was cold, so that was decent at least.

Glad we can
on anti-delivery.
I'm traveling for work this week so I'm sure
will be going for it, but I'll cut her slack on this, being alone with a baby and dog is hard, so go for it in this case. When I'm home, I will
out on it.
There are certain foods that travel well though, like Chinese, other Asian food, Indian, basically anything where it is a curry/stir fry situation with rice or noodles. Burger and fries, tacos, nah. Too soggy.
