Soviet EV chronicles + future ponderings about Fendies and Civics

Since it has been nearly a year ... here are some state for those that care or are EV curious.
There were 181 charging sessions
The car was charging 625 hrs or ~2 hrs a day
vehicle indicated a consumption of 2.9M per kw compared to actual calc of 2.5m/kw (rest seems to be "angel share" )
Vehicle charged 5103kWh it was driven 13012 miles
I charged 66% of that at home or about 3400kw... at the current "cheap" 34 cent per kw rates... that's about $1156 or $100 a month give or take... clearly about $150 a month or so without "Free" charging at work.
Car pretty much burned through a set of tires... but with rotations and tire pressure adjustments I think they can last another 4000 miles.
I haven't had any other issues other than those listed in this thread. Still love the car but I would never EVER own it out of warranty. The repair costs are too astronomical.

So is the EV experience worth saving 1290/year? and maybe the gas version wouldnt have eaten a set of tires?

Honest answer. Yes. I prefer an EV to an ICE vehicle for my current use case. I have visited 0 crack infested gas stations. And having 100% power on tap at an instant is absolutely amazing. As is the tech/refinement of the vehicle, and handling (for the type of vehicle that it is) due to the center of gravity etc.

My savings are a bit higher because I decided to be an absolute green tree fucking cuck and buy solar. But I didn't want to muddy the waters here. I have roughly $20 a month in total electricity costs for the last 12 months and includes my house etc. Gas alone would be around 3k as per year or $250 per month as per your accurate calc. A comparable non-cuck BMW (X5M60i) suvs also burns tires like crazy, unfortunately. So apples to apples this vehicle is cheaper to own and better drive in every measurable aspect other than road trips above 300miles per day.

However, since we're being honest. This is subsidized by BMW and maybe? By the gov? Since technically I am above the subsidy MSRP (79k). this may not be factual though.

The "TRUE" costs of owning this car for the first 3 years are about $1583 a month in depreciation (97.5K MSRP down to 40k estimated resale value at 3 years and 40k miles), BMW is subsidizing it down to $640 or so... If presented with the "True" cost... I don't think I would get it as it is just insanely expensive for what it is... I would own the Countryman SE as mentioned in my earlier rants.

Yep they are the same across the entire BMW lineup. Same app as I am using and (loving) for the IX as well.

Type R is like a non depreciating asset, that’s a good financial move and still cool.

A used ITS with 4k miles is the same price as a CTR. Let someone else take that initial hit and I'd bet they're relatively depreciation-free as well.

Yea it’s another thing to consider. I’m a little weary of the brand though I feel like it’s dead and it may likely drag the depreciation above the shitvic in the near future

Sorry, was busy watching the all American sit com.

That said … I think I eliminated the M3 and M2 and likely the I4.

I4 is too similar to the IX and I’d rather get a countryman SE ev mini at 1/2 the price

M3 this one was rough, I really really liked it in person, but I’ll just be real with y’all, I just can’t justify the cost. It’s almost 2x what the civic costs. Insurance alone is an EXTRA $100 a month. And to me the Shitvic will
Scratch the same itch. And at that point I will know if I can even sports car at this point. The risk of having to later sell the m3 because I don’t drive it is too high.

M2 well similar to the above, I’d have to order one and wait 3-6 months to make the spec correct. And at the end the gap between the two is not wide enough to downgrade the space inside.

So I’m basically between ranger raptor and type R. Both are hard to find to drive
