It doesn't matter. Somebody pretty much made an 80's Land Rover 110 with a B58 and a ZF8 speed. I think they are cooler than hell and I would risk the startup thing.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:08 pmThese things are a surprisingly decent value. It actually is bad enough that it does matter. Which is why I brought it up. It’s 4 turns lock to lock and it can’t keep a straight line on the freeway.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:11 pmIt doesn't matter. I would have to give it a try. I have a mancrush on Ienos.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:16 pmIt actually is bad enough that it does matter. Which is why I brought it up. It’s 4 turns lock to lock and it can’t keep a straight line on the freeway.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:11 pm

I don’t understand a small 2 door ev 4x4. You can’t travel in them. And they suck for around town in terms of ride quality etc.J-Ho-Fo-Show69 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 7:46 pm2 door version might be hot

It's OK around town but definitely not great on the highway. We drove cross country in it... fortunately it was still new enough to be exciting and we did actually do some off roading, but still... I would've liked a normal car at times.
The stupid CX5 did make me enjoy the Wrangler more. It drives nearly as bad (kind of worse with how bad the driver's aids are), which makes me appreciate that at least the
is cool while driving like poo poo.

I hear things got better after the switched aluminum steering gear back to metal... i think around 2020? I haven't driven a Grenadier so I can't really say, but it was a strange theme with every reviewer that they essentially mentioned the steering as making the car quite terrible to drive... Curious myself..
I mean a Defender does the same shit and is quite a bit better as a daily and it roams the same price point... so Grenadier is a tough sell IMO. Especially since the company will go belly up the second the billionaire owner gets bored of it.

I don't know that jeeps drive THAT bad... it's not great for sure but its "ok". And the simplicity ... everything has a knob not a screen is quite nice. as is the overall shape/size and general visibility/practicality/ease of service and fantastic aftermarket support.
A 4 runner for ex has better steering, but the 4.slow and 5 speed auto are terrible compared to a jeep so to me it's a net neutral decision.

The new GX550 and Land Cruiser are also interesting comparison vehicles to the Grenadier... a bit cheaper and quite the lookers as well.
I think the unspoken issue with the grenadier is the height... the thing is 80" tall... for ex that doesn't fit in a lot of garages because of the door heights and it also doesn't fit a lot of parking garages... The defender is 77.7" tall and I had issues with that in Palm Springs... had to lower the car a few times using the air suspension in order to clear garages... it was quite... nerve wrecking to be honest.

Yeah the Jeep has a good power train, bad steering, and handles like you’d expect it too. Seems on par with the Grenadier. I’d love to test drive one. It surprises me a bit that they seem to be selling decent. I see them around pretty regularly.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 5:12 pmI don't know that jeeps drive THAT bad... it's not great for sure but its "ok". Right but for long term hold guys you are left with a B58/ZF8 which is way better than some multiple forced induction RR shite.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 5:10 pmI hear things got better after the switched aluminum steering gear back to metal... i think around 2020?
