Give me a pack of pall malls and some Van Halen and I won't care how it drives.

We had the Chevy version. Astro. My dad was using it as his “poor man’s pickup” with the two bench seats removed to haul stuff around for the last several years. Finally dumped it earlier this year when he made the move to Utah. We picked it up in 2000 when I was a freshman in HS. We had one prior to that, but it caught on fire driving up the Baker grade one night on our way to Boise for Thanksgiving break. Thing had over 400k miles on the clock when my dad finally retired it.

Plus that 4.3 is a stout mill. This is a very useful vehicle.

They are also on a truck chassis. Before we moved to US. My parents, grandmother, grand parents and uncle who was a teenager at the time rented the astro in Florida and gradually drove to my neck of the woods (wasnt then)

That is a nice van for sure. There are a lot of working people who still seem to view those as the ideal vehicle, it's a shame they don't really make things like that anymore.

I love these but would never own one. They are REALLY hard to work on.

I had a friend in high school who had one of these. It was indeed very cramped in the engine bay. It was really the first fast car I ever rode in, definitely wonderful cars. I think he still owns it and it hasn't run in close to 20 years.

The engine and drivetrains are stout, but crammed in there. LS kits exist too.

I will be interesting to see what Johnny's yellow one goes for. $92K moves me into a different car but I can't say I don't love these things up to $45K.
