I've said it before, I'll say it again. College towns are the best cities.

Yeah she was on the smaller side, being a few weeks early, and she’s still playing catch up. We met up with my buddy who’s wife gave birth in May, and the size difference between the babies with a three month difference is wild.
I’m also just not used to seeing newborns , so the tinyness is kinda

Twas a great pic though.

The tinyness will really set in the first time you hold yours right after birth. Seeing that close how small they actually are when they come out, and just the natural protective instinct seems to make them seem even smaller and more fragile.

Im not actually sure.. last Dr.s’ visit she was 7lb, so up 1lb from birth. That was a month go. I roughly weighed her at 7lb6oz a week after that by hopping on my scale with and without her. Our next appointment is in two weeks, so we’ll see where she’s at then.

Hopefully they evacuated as soon as they could’ve, after choosing to stay (according to your last check in). Asheville got pretty crazy flooding. Maybe they’re ok, just no battery on phones.

They lose some weight at the beginning. I saw you said there are feeding issues? What’s up with that? Not latching? Colic? Tongue tie?SAWCE wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 7:15 pmIm not actually sure.. last Dr.s’ visit she was 7lb, so up 1lb from birth. That was a month go. Feeding issues have pretty much resolved. She just wasn’t into nursing and took forever on bottles. Lactation consultant set us up with a speech pathologist to check her tongue tie since she thinks that tissue looks a little more thick than it should, but she isn’t expecting them to do anything about it. We actually have that appointment on the 3rd. Forgot about that.razr390 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:25 pmThey lose some weight at the beginning. I saw you said there are feeding issues? Now she breast feeds all the time and would rather be there than anywhere else. Bottles are fine, unless she’s just not in the mood for that and then she’ll cry until she gets a booby. Sleep is going generally well for now too.

Spoke to the renters today. One of our neighbors have a generator. They invited them over to eat dinner. Can’t get ahold of my property manager, but appears their office is under water. Our house is high enough to not be affected as far as I can tell. However, the roads aren’t just impassable, they don’t exist anymore. FEMA is working to get to everyone down our road. Bridges to get to our house are wiped out, and I couldn’t get there if I wanted.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 9:02 amCame here to ask if that joint was okayJ-Ho-Fo-Show69 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:20 pm

Spoke to some good ole boys that are gonna hike up to get the guests/renters at my house tomorrow and take them to rutherfordton so their family can meet them to pick them up. But it’s like a 6 mile hike through roads that don’t exist anymore. The renters have two young kids and all their shit. I told them to leave their stuff and car and I would get to it when I can. Duke told me to expect power back on sometime near Christmas. I have bookings from now until then that I just have to cancel. Which sucks, but could be worse. My house and that family could have been swept away if we were further down the hill.
Spoke to DOT today and they told me they have no estimate on when the bridge will be back up and running. Chimney Rock, our small town, is completely fucking gone. Can’t even tell something was there. Someone posted this to twitter. You can see the google maps before and after: https://x.com/collinrugg/status/1839811 ... DXCKmVJwCg
Also. Here is what one of the bridges looks like: https://x.com/anniemdance/status/183975 ... DXCKmVJwCg
