Speaking of shitty reps, they/them/POS got fired this week
Although apparently we're not backfilling the role so it's just more work for me, but still less work than dealing with that shit storm, so I'm quite
I rather deal with working more than working with some epic shithead. Atleast I'll know I won't be worked at the last minute as opposed to know ahead of time.
I had a same shitty coworker who actually got fired the next day after we docked because of her fuck up. I got called in early a few times because of that bitch (which didnt surprise me)

Egyptian neighbor brought us over some dinner. Very nice of them. Some good spiced rice, chicken thighs (didn’t notice any distinct flavoring or spices), and what she called a traditional Egyptian green soup. Pretty tasty. Soup appears to be called Mulukhia according to the googles.
WAP or Turk ever have anything similar?
We don't have those in our cuizines, just regular white rice and soup is the closest thing we can get

I'm guessing it's more Arab than Ottoman or Greek..
Where are these mangos?

I don't understand anything anymore.
My plan is pretty much to cut down on calories a lot as well as obviously the three hour bike rides won’t be happening for a while. Hopefully it’ll be busy enough with CF to not really have much in the way of food cravings.
Yeah dude, that’s exactly how it goes. I’m still trying to eat roughly every 2-2.5 hours during the day to get my six meals in, but there have been a few days where that’s stretched out to 6+ hours without me even realizing or feeling the hunger.
She’s officially one week old today. At this point I’m hopeful that after this next week there will start to be time for me to go downstairs and hit our smith machine for some quick workouts, and that there is also enough time for me to get the sleep needed to make doing that worthwhile. We’ll see though. Could very well be another 2-3 weeks before that happens.
3 months is the best/worst case scenario, and that depends on how quickly y'all can get her on a structure. little ones don't sleep for long (and shouldn't!) because they require constant feeds + diaper changes. Does she at least sleep in the bassinet by herself/alone?
See what she likes/doesn't like. My $0.02, if you are running errands incorporate her into your routine as well, especially during the daytime. Otherwise you will be a slave to her sleep schedule (which can still be followed as long as she feels comfortable enough to nap out & about). We were slaves with our first and she took forever to sleep train. We took our second NFG anywhere/everywhere and he was sleep trained by 4 months.

DFD. The forum where everybody makes the same choices and then tells anybody trying to join the club that they are the stupidest motherfucker to ever walk the earth.
BTW Sawce don't take my hahaha's as me laughing at you or trying to be a negative Nancy. I am just speaking from experience. Usually it becomes a lot easier when they can sleep in spurts of 6-8 hours at a time, usually at night.

All good. I wasn’t super clear in my post. I’m not trying to get a workout or a full 8 hours of straight sleep lol, I just want to go bang out 2-3 sets over 5-10 minutes and get 7ish hours of sleep over a 24 hour period. We’ve each been able to stack 2hrs at a time between feeds during the night, during the day we do 30-45 minute naps where we can when she’s napping.
And I have no firm expectations, just hopeful thinking/wishing. At this point, that seems like we’re progressing towards that being a possibility.. but I know there will be regressions and just because I get a quick lift in one day, doesn’t mean that I will get to any other day that week or even the following week.

Like Max said, 1st month is huge, 3rd month is even more so. Make it to those and you’ll be alright. Take it one day at a time, everyone has an opinion but also comparison is the thief of joy. My best advice is find that balance of creating a structure/routine for kiddo but also implementing kiddo into your day to day as much as possible.

First two nights she struggled in the bassinet, last few she’s done great. We’ve had her out and about with us for several appointments and she sleeps through all the hustle and bustle, plus our dog barking like crazy as Amazon deliveries continue rolling in. We’re also training her to sleep in the bassinet during her day naps. As much as we love holder her while she sleeps, that needlessly ties one of us up and it was setting us back at night as she didn’t want to sleep in it. Do we’ll hold her for a bit just to get our fill, then lay her down and she’s doing great in those transitions. Doing some baby wearing too with this wrap we got.

When we sleep trained our second, I took over doing the holding/contact to bassinet/bed transitions, as we found he had a harder time detaching from mom (which is normal/natural). So we did a lot of transition practice during my “shifts” and it was more contact napping/holding when it was mom’s turn.

Nice. Interestingly, she had a harder time with me setting her down at first, but now it’s pretty good for both of us.

Yea the sleep imo is actually kind of easier when they are sub 1 month in some ways… sleeping through stuff etc it’s just unstructured

Yeah I’m not looking forward to when the dog barking wakes her up. We’ll have to put notes on all our orders to just leave shit downstairs by the garage door and go get them ourselves. Dog will bark if she even senses someone by the front door without them knocking or ringing the bell.

So what else is going on besides Max, Rudy, and I talking baby shit? Anyone do anything cool this weekend? Let me live vicariously through you!
Saw Coheed and Cambria and Primus last night with a couple of buddies, probably the weekend highlight for me. Went for a bike ride both days and a hike today with and Fairly chill overall but a great weekend. Not stoked on working tomorrow.
Made steak and shrimp cocktail for dinner tonight for a little at home date too. First steak of the year for me, did a ribeye on the grill, pretty good.

Nice! C&C is great prog-rock/metal. I kinda fell off of listening to them after Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV: Vol. 1 ( at their album titles), but I should check some of their newer stuff out. That album, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, and The Second Stage Turbine Blade are all great. I should grab some of their stuff on vinyl at some point.

I have some Costco cooked frozen shrimp defrosting for dinner later right now.
I went to the butcher shop again yesterday. I really need a garage fridge/freezer. One guy loaded up on Snake River fancy bois and left with a 4 fig receipt
oh no, this was catastrophic failure, bang accompanied by hissing and sagging of suspension. parts on ground. happened while unhooking trailer.
ugh
looks to be pretty common failure. Lots of uints out there. Got a eaby one for $105 vs OE 400+. its pretty easy spot to get to, 4 bolts two air lines one connector. we'll see how it goes.

We’ve had a generally good day though. Jaundice levels were up so we had a couple extra appointments the last few days. One more tomorrow, so those adding some stress to the mix has been difficult, but each day things have gotten progressively better/easier as we’ve gotten more efficient in our routines with her. Today was a bit of a regression with her eating which was frustrating, but Michelle and I were good about recognizing when the other needed a second to go catch their breath. Tonight that was me and she completely took over for an hour so I could eat, have a shower, and shave my head so I felt more out together. Was really great of her.
Jaundice is common but generally tends to clear up quick. The feeding thing is honestly the worst for most … I’d say 50% have issues and the other 50% look at York like you’re a because they are cows busting at the seams and babies gain an once a day.
That said don’t shy off formula if things get tough no shame in it. It gets a lot easier after the first month… and especially after month 3. So just gotta look at like “hell week” and then you’re through.
Hell week. Yeah. Beatrice had something like that happen. She suddenly just started screaming at the boob and would not calm down. Might have been scared by a loud noise or idk what during feeding and it spooked her. That lasted about 3 days but it was enormously stressful for my wife.
Some people have no issues breastfeeding and others it’s hell. Just gotta do what’s right for you.
We held out with breastfeeding for like 3 months though. It was tough. She’s on formula now. Every kid is different.
