I noticed now lot of Kias and Hyundais, especially in my apartment garage now uses an old school steering lock like we had growing up. These refers to them as "free car"Johnny_P wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 10:26 amI always liked getting elantras as rentals. If you manually shift the CVT it’s a lot better, and the motor will make power to redline so it’s decent to wring out. I enjoy beating the hell out of slow cars though.D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 6:26 am Also, Cleveland airport had a very poor selection of rental cars, I opted for an Elantra with 400 miles on the clock. I can see why people buy these things, for the price it is quite loaded out. The newer interior is , cool looking off white leather semi sport seats, sunroof, lots of tech, heated seats, kind of has everything. It is slow as
Damn Kia Boyz ruining these though. Even if it’s got an immobilizer who wants to deal with smashed windows and busted steering columns from attempted thefts?

Just pulled right in front of you? RIP bitchin' Camaro. Glad you're mostly OK>Melon2.0 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 2:33 pm For those who haven't heard, a lady turned left in front of me on Friday. Fairly certain the Camaro is totaled, it's quite damaged.
I'm doing okay, left shoulder is fucked. I went to the doctor, and nothing is broken so that's good.
Been doing a lot of car shopping.
Yeah, I had the green she must have had a left on green light, and she didn't see me at all. Just turned in front of me. She didn't even try to slowdown or stop.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 3:53 pm Just pulled right in front of you? RIP bitchin' Camaro. Glad you're mostly OK>

Might want to crank up a nice little PI settlement to add to the payoff on the Camaro.Melon2.0 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 3:59 pmYeah, I had the green she must have had a left on green light, and she didn't see me at all. They’re in bum fuck CT, but evidently no. Curious to hear if the GTI $50 used unit works, will report back.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 12:54 pm Not a single new alternator for a VW 1.8T in the entire Charlotte Metro Area?
The ‘shifting’ Is actually quite decent. It’sa solid car after driving it more, well worth the price of entry.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 10:26 amI always liked getting elantras as rentals. 1.5T Accord seems decent or perhaps lightly used Elantra with push button start to avoid the fuckery?

Holy shit man I’m sorry. That must have been terrifying. It all happened so fast.
It went from "Oh shit, she's turning" to "Crap, she's not stopping" and then finally "Oh, this is going to suck." Then the impact.
Those airbags go off with the quickness.
