It might also be just the fronts. I'll check tonight.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 3:45 pmYeah I'm not seeing 4 rotors, 4 pads, $800 andin the same sentence.
So it was just for the front pads and rotors and the estimate was $725.wap wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 4:33 pmIt might also be just the fronts. I'll check tonight.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 3:45 pm

Go to FCP Euro and spec the OEM parts and find out?
that's insanity.

Valkyrie wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 11:52 pm Front pads and rotors are probably $400-500 in OEM parts at retail prices so yeah that's quite fair.
My local Mazdatried to get almost $2k for the same thing, I told him to go to hell. Dude saw someone with painted nails and thought he'd hit the jackpot... Little did he know, the lesbians are pretty good with DIY.
Looks like around $350-$375 on their site.
Yep. I'll get it done next year. They were just giving me a heads up of what I'll probably need next year. Just a bit
I respect that, but I HATE bleeding brakes and I haven't done any brake work in literally decades so I'm good with paying a couple hours of labor to have it done right the first time with a warranty on the work.
They bleeding the brakes for that quote?
you assume wrong for just a pad and rotor change.

I did and they seemed ok. Didn't check the thickness yet,D Griff wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 9:07 pm Yeah the “brake job” won’t have anything to do with fluid, pad/rotor replacement is pretty easy but the rate doesn’t seem too terrible, typical(hence why I DIY).
I would look at the pads and rotors for yourself at least, seems unlikely that the rotors would really need to be replaced.
Sorry I just saw this, I got them through Z-I-L-L-O-N and had my indy shop mechanic install them for me. All 4 corners were a $750 affair (parts & labor). Dealer wanted $1200 for front axle lol.

And was that in VA or tejas? I never recalled paying 4 digs on all four brakes
Dude that is some white collar crime, he drives a veedub, not an amg
