Kind of a unicorn motor, would probably be expensive to maintain. But the price is really nice for what you get. No MT tho.

Sucks there's no MT but I'd assume the motor is the only real question mark here. Albeit a pretty yuge question mark. I think the trans is the same ZF 8 speed that everyone else uses and they're solid.

That V6 isn't in anything else is it? Low production motor from FCA. Probably no bueno.

It’s a variant of the Ferrari / Maserati F154 motor but with 2 cylinders removed for the Alfa application. So yeah it’s a unicorn. But it’s also essentially a Ferrari motor for cheap. But it’s also that.

🤷‍♂️

:yikes: Ferrari motor = $$$$$$$

It would be sweet though. They still look great despite not receiving any updates but it’s a big time risk.

Comparable F80 M3’s are going for roughly $10k more.

That's the JLR one, this is actually 6 cylinders AFAIK. Ferrari actually took the time to cut the unused crap out.

I showed :tits: the Guilia just to gauge a reaction and she loves it. So much so that she was googling more pictures of it on her own and looking at some autotrader listings. :mindblown:

It looks like 2020+ is the year to get as they added port injection and a new infotainment that year.

But why does it seem like these cars have been unaffected by covid while everything else is still :fullretard: ? Simply because of Alfa's reputation? Think these have bottomed out or will they keep falling? It really is a hell of a car for the price.

Stigmas are hard to shake.
Quattroformaggios likely have very high repair and upkeep costs.
Brand cachet - Benz and BMW have it, this doesn’t.
The owl face, and kidney bruising seats and suspension, isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

1. Because he'd had his fun and walked into the deal ZFG as to the reality that he was buying an Italian car.
2. Because a factory replacement spark plug was harder to get that enriched uranium.
3. There were other indicia that the ferris wheel ride was not going to be forever, but I forget them.

If I decide to buy a car that is remotely “fun” then a 4 cyl Giulia is pretty high on the list. I likely won’t go that route though since I like the laid back soft quiet car life. I’m more interested in a Lexus TBH.

I agree with everyone's reasoning. Mostly reputation, most people have never even heard of an Alfa Romeo so they're not out looking for them, drives down demand and price. Others think they're unreliable and avoid, also drives down price. They may not be bad, but they may be...

They certainly are great to look at.

4 cyl Stelvio is the one I'd like to test sometime, or their new small PHEV hatch/"CUV" if it ever gets released.

C&D had issues with theirs. Another site had no problems. Seems like a mixed bag which is expected.

Out of curiosity I looked up tire costs on tire rack and a set of PS4S for the GoRf is $1,291.96. For the Alfa it's $1,467.60. I was expecting a bigger difference. Of course the Alfa will wear through the rears quicker but I don't do a ton of driving. Obviously this applies to an M3 as well.

Oil capacity on the Alfa is only 7 quarts as well. One more than what the GoRf takes. Looks like the filter is $100 though.

Just get a new M3. Besides lots of vacation, another obvious advantage of being European is the regular addition of Akrapovic exhaust as a factory option.

Don't forget about being able to retire.

Why is Akrapovic an option on so many cars over there? It's even available for the GoRf. It was something like $3,000+ to import that exhaust for the R and it's only an axleback.

Yeah only their motorcycle exhausts are remotely affordable. They seem to look and sound the part though.......if you have "the car" you are never going to :plac: then YOLO.

I don't think I could ever spend that kind of money on an exhaust. They're nearly $10k.

But that is one small complaint I have with the M2/3/4. The yuuuge stock rear muffler looks like it's dragging ass.

I would personally go for an F80 M3 I think… it’s a known thing and pretty reliable. You can get a manual. They look great and it’s a great chassis. A couple years older and I think they can be had in the high 40s range you’re looking at. If you don’t track and do things like plugs and oil DIY, maintenance should be OKish.
