Yep. One punishment vehicle in the stable is key. Not everything can be euro trash. Gotta remember I 'ed through 5 cars in the last 18 monthsDesertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 1:24 pmAnd yet, there you are.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 1:00 pm
With the exception of perhaps a GR Corolla which no one can buy in their right mind and a GR86, combined which constitute just about .01% of their annual sales volume. Every toyota sold is a boring pile of shit. Yes they are reliable, and require for the most part little maintenance to reach 200k... but they are just Come at me...
Mini
Model S
Model X
E350
Tacoma
From a percentage of sales standpoint, yeah... they're depressing. However from a percentage of models offered standpoint, they have five that are cool (GR Corolla, GR86, Supra, Tacoma, 4R IMO) which is more than I can say about most brands.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 1:00 pmWith the exception of perhaps a GR Corolla which no one can buy in their right mind and a GR86, combined which constitute just about .01% of their annual sales volume. Ford for example has Bronco and Mustang only. GM now has only Corvette and the Canyonado is aight. Honda only has unobtainable variants of the Shitvic. VW has the GTI/R.
There are niche brands that have a bunch of dope shit, but of the mainstreams I think Toyota wins, which is shocking. Stellanus is pretty high up there as well - Challenger/Charger Hellcat/SRT, Wrangler, dumb Hellcat shit, Alfa Guilia, etc.
There you go, another I didn't even think of.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 1:25 pm Land Cruiser is not giving up. I assume you're not counting the Supra because BMW bastard son thing.

I would've said the same thing until I rented a Forte and the ac condenser under the glowbox leaked and pretty much flodded the passenger side footwell.
Also Kia and im assuming Hyundai does $5k markups

Get a Subaru, it's the ultimate nfg car and new ones have no mark-up. Crosstek is great, forester is great. Holds resale value. The CVT is 5/7 compared to other cars ive driven.
The only people I've seen drive 5+ year buicks in my neck of the woods are either or

Toyota basic bitch products like Corolla are still far more than Subaru, I don't think she is going to want to replace head gaskets at 100K miles and she will probably keep the thing that long.
Sadly it seems like there have been major issues with Kia/Hyundai of late - thefts, engine failures... I have been very pro these brands for the past 5-10 years but would be hesitant to recommend one at this point.

Kia and Hyundai has never been good… or as good as a Toyota/Honda. Come at me… multiple examples of this just keep popping up over and over and over.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 10:37 am Toyota basic bitch products like Corolla are still far more than Subaru, I don't think she is going to want to replace head gaskets at 100K miles and she will probably keep the thing that long.

They may be ok until 100k. But unless I see them with 400k miles in Nairobi being on their 5th life as a taxi cab they are never going to touch Toyota with a 10 foot pole.

The Black Stallion continues to patrol the desert. It may make it until lots are full of Corollas.

I’ve talked to many Toyota dealers recently and while the 86 is still a bit of a challenge, a few have said they have great financing incentives on Corolla and Camry as they aren’t exactly sold the minute they hit the floor like they were a year ago.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 12:46 pmThe 's are there.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 12:44 pm The Black Stallion continues to patrol the desert. Nay, the Black Stallion continues to roam the desert. That Buick may be in mint condition, but 15 grand? Only Cale would pay that.

As an aside I have no idea how many things can go wrong with this car.......it has less than 100K on it.

I assume electrical? My dad has a Bonneville GXP, which is the same platform, and it was riddled with electrical issues, then the HG on the Northstar started going around 90k miles.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 12:50 pm As an aside I have no idea how many things can go wrong with this car.......it has less than 100K on it.
