Decide to swap engine in the middle of summer in my driveway to help resale of my car.
Now back to square two. I recall rumors of ford gt's and other cars using bp's.. did my research.
Basically longblock is the same, just need to swap over EVERYTHING. Punch out a freeze plug. Plug a dipstichk hole. Cap a coolant outlet after trimming.
got a ford escort gt engine for two fiddy. got it on the stand had 2 dead holes. returned.
got a kia engine for three fiddy from somewhere else, got the bitch stabbed.
Its got some pretty bad HLA noise but is otherwise fine.
*PLOT TWIST* the car i was going to buy spun a rod bearing on the test drive. Like, way worse knock than the longblock i gave away.
This is now my forever car again. HLA noise will clear up or I'll put solid lifters in it and continue to send it.
