Yep, I agree. There could be a bit of grime in the reservoir but that fluid looks dirty and old to me. I remember it looking perfect in my Corvette pretty much always (because I changed it annually) and that was a higher miles/older car who's brakes saw more abuse (not that that matters really).

All it takes is 5 screws and it comes out under the glovebox. It is a very simple job in these cars surprisingly. I wouldn't be pulling a dash on an old benz. But the chirping noise is my OCD

Ah interesting yea. The procedure doesn't seem half bad I looked into it prior. My buddy paid an Indy about $550 to get it done apparently its very pricy...but generally you just drop and replace the pan and 5 quarts and call it a day.

Yeah so they are pretty much blaming the car. And saying that it was as dirty because the reservoir had all this sediment… but “the fluid is fine”. He sucked the reservoir clean twice and refilled it…
I don’t think they ever did it… or maybe it was that bad ?! I mean I have a record of it being done in 2019 last… and 3 times prior to that … this car was not abused. Ugh

I’ve been fucked a few times by highly yelp rated indie mechanics. Most people, if you read the reviews, know nothing at all about cars and just rate it highly because cheap or friendly.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 7:50 pmYeah so they are pretty much blaming the car. That fluid needs to be fully replaced. It should just be yellow not cloudy.

I looked at videos it's gonna be a bit of mess for a first timer. 9 quart MBZ tranny fluid and t he rest of it is $250 at Autohaus AZ. https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/7229ATSERVKIT. My guy will do it for $175.
Stopped at PS MBZ for the lolz. Walked in, talked to (fairly attractive) service rep. "We dont' do quotes," she said. "it will be somewhere between $950 and $1250 depending on how much fluid" Yeah.

You actually physically went to a place # . I am a bit resentful of the amount of time I have spent on this maintenance shit so far. I know its just the initial hump of bringing things up to current standards... but man it has been quite annoying dealing with incompetence.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 8:25 pmI looked at videos it's gonna be a bit of mess for a first timer. 9 quart MBZ tranny fluid and t he rest of it is $250 at Autohaus AZ. https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/7229ATSERVKIT. Literally on the way home. Service would not answer the phone. I would never buy a car from these guys.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 8:28 pmYou actually physically went to a place # . Also one other thing to note... the prior claimed to have changed the oil on it... which also didn't look like it was done. It's nice and fresh looking now and you can't see it on the dipstick (yes its there).
But man 0/2 for services that CLAIMED that were done but clearly weren't... or car sat?! and Oil turned dark? seems

I have had a pretty bad time reaching "service" guys anyways... They immediately ask if you want "service a or b" and if you don't have an answer that falls within that binary question you get a stumped response and sent to a "voicemail" with no call back.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 8:30 pmLiterally on the way home. That's probably what they did the first time. The Corvette peeps do this for their clutch fluid and call it the Ranger method. Fuck those guys, they are second rate scammers. Yelp them a 1/5 ratingmax225 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 7:50 pmYeah so they are pretty much blaming the car. So through epic snooping I was able to find the prior owner of this car.
Drumroll….
Dr Roland Couche an anesthesiologist from Phoenix. Who retired back in 2018. He has/had a lovey 5000sq foot estate in Paradise Valley country club.
This lines up with the latest navigation entires in the car and the move back to Cali. I think he may have retired or passed away.
