He "should have" maintenance records going back to when it was new, but needs to check. It was also "serviced religiously" at the most well-known indy euro shop in the area.
He said all it needs is "separate wheels need to be replaced" (I assume he means they need new tires, car is currently on the snow tires), and the front speakers "could use replacement".
Someone is checking it out this afternoon, so I assume it's already gone. But I asked him to let me know if the person happens to pass. If I can get it for $8-9.5k, I don't see how I could lose much. Plus, I could check e46 off the car bucket list.

Kind of more interested in this:

I love GMT400's. This thing would probably be quite a bit of fun and it would be handy to have a truck bed again.

It wouldn't be driven in the winter, and I like the "muscle truck" sort of concept, always have.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 9:47 am2WD truck in Michigan? NahDetroit wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 9:42 am Kind of more interested in this:

Yea, it's a 5.0...but at least it's not a 4.3.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 11:53 amWell you're in the Vortec years with 1996, Isn't it a 5.7/350 not a 5.bro?

The 305 was still available when the vortec heads were introduced.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 11:53 amWell you're in the Vortec years with 1996, Isn't it a 5.7/350 not a 5.bro?
I don't see the value in that truck though when you already have a BOF brand new vehicle. Unless you just enjoy looking at it.

I miss having a truck bed. It's surprising how often I could use it. The nearest UHaul to rent trailers from is kind of in a PITA location and the hours are pretty limited so picking up big items requires planning or paying for delivery. All fine, but we tend to do things spur of the moment and the truck could help with that. I'd also love to have something to tinker with that's not a "classic" and drivable, but still presentable and look nice outside of C&C or whatever.
I've always liked reg cab short bed trucks, and the GMT400 is one of my favorites. Someone asked me the other day what vehicle I regret selling, if any, and the only vehicle I could come up with was my GMT400. They're the ideal size, extremely well built, and relatively easy to work on.

I showed her the Bimmer and the that ensued was indeed and met expectations. That's a non-starter, it might as well not exist.
She hates cars...all cars other than a 78 Trans Am. Trucks and SUVs are all that should be produced in her eyes. Remember, a pickup enables , which makes it valuable.
A brub'd out muscle truck is my trojan horse into something remotely fun/unique.

One of my all time fantasy Resto Mod builds is a 73/74 Super Duty 455 where the engine is an LS7 stroked out to 455 cubes, with a TR6070, and real brakes and suspension, but otherwise stock in appearance.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 1:07 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 12:49 pm

The teal 400 is kinda neat being a teal stepside, but I really would prefer a reg cab short bed for looks and drivability. The goal would be to try to hit both utility and fun/uniqueness.

The reg cab old truck market might be the most out there.
