You have to remember who they cater to. Imbeciles who can't buy a new car at sticker and are willing to pay 10-20%above MSRP for a used vehicle.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 1:29 pmLife on the tip of the technology spear is not all sunshine and rainbows.
That said... Craigslist seems to be on fire at the moment...

That's awesome. CL here is dead, everything is on FBM. And that sucks big time.

My friend cancelled his Neptune Blue premium order today because of two push backs already. He ordered as soon as the books opened too. Sucks your car is sitting there thoughfledonfoot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 7:45 pm GR86 pushed out to 2nd week of Feb now.

Why does waiting 2 weeks matter? Is getting something else instead ... if so what?CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 7:59 pmMy friend cancelled his Neptune Blue premium order today because of two push backs already. If he was in the Northeast or the SE regions, there may not have even been a car at all and they’re unable to get an allocation swap done. The SET region only ordered manual/premium trims in black, white, red and silver, while the NE is generally getting shafted on allocations as the original car sold like shit here. My dealership got a third allocation this week - and that was purely a clerical issue as it’s a duplicate of my order. They’ve already sold it.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 7:59 pmMy friend cancelled his Neptune Blue premium order today because of two push backs already. He's in SAV and placed his order back in Sept or around there. I think the excitement has just worn off for him at this point.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 8:25 pmIf he was in the Northeast or the SE regions, there may not have even been a car at all and they’re unable to get an allocation swap done. Toyota’s Sold Orders opened on 12/6 for the 12/8 initial allocation for December. There’s two allocations a month for Toyota… with the limited availability of the car in general, let alone their limited color and minimal premium trims being built, they’re probably just hoping they got a preferenced unit.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 8:33 pmHe's in SAV and placed his order back in Sept or around there. The car’s worth waiting for. At worst, he’d flip it for a profit.
unless it was a situation where you need a car today to get to work or something, seems like sitting back and waiting would be the move.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 8:40 pmToyota’s Sold Orders opened on 12/6 for the 12/8 initial allocation for December. At least when it comes to car parts, I hardly ever get hits from CL and everything is sold on FBM. The stupid thing is that FBM usually has a 72 hour window before your chances of selling drop precipitously.
I also have a bunch of bb guns that I can't even list on FBM because Z0MG! Gunz!

The wait would be WAY worse if it was 4 months from now...fledonfoot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 8:21 pmNot too worried. It’s the car I want in the color I want.

I recall you saying that shippers are held to committed timelines at some point.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 10:15 am Car is now off the boat and entered "freight" status. Who the fuck knows?
Which really me when there was no update to my 4R status the day before it was supposed to be there, the was confident and sure enough, it showed up on the day as promised.

Y’all are spoiled.
I ordered a defender 2 months ago… got Jack shit on any sort of updates. 1 week here one week there it’s not like this an Amazon order.
Seems like everyone has the vid over the last 2 weeks that’s going to clear up and back to normal mid Feb.
