Probably still worth it to check it out… at least see if you’d like it “if only it were a stick,” ya know?
Richard is a Miata addict.

Maybe. I'm not in the market for another car right now, maybe toward the end of this year, so I'm not too motivated to check out something that isn't ideal. I'd like to check out a few things around the same time...
N KPOP, GR Corolla, WRX

I have a buddy who really wants a GR Corolla when it comes out. He’s a big fan of Toyota.

Where I live, AWD could facilitate a ton of fun snow shenanigans. Plus a hatchback, the GR Corolla is major for me.
But I've heard nothing but positive feedback for the N KPOP, so I'd certainly like to take a look at one before pulling the trigger on anything.

The GR Corolla is very intriguing in a world where a GoRf is 45k plus markups.Detroit wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 11:29 amWhere I live, AWD could facilitate a ton of fun snow shenanigans. Plus a hatchback, the GR Corolla is major for me.

Let me know if you go drive it. I’m curious to hear what you think.

It’s better in person. I was resolved to alter the front until I saw it in person. I like it.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 2:20 pm Yeah this looks like a fun car for the money. Plus dat 10/100 powertrain warranty. I'm meh on the front end but this looks like a hoot.

How is that guy? I remember him as being a good dood back in the Dead Zone OT glory days. I believe he was a DFD'r for a very short time early on. Get him back here.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 4:26 pmUp until last year, it had become a tradition to hit up a dim sum joint in Philly around Christmas with Jade of MK6 fame and his family.
RIP Christmas dim sum.

Give him our DFD regards. I hope he stops by some time.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 4:46 pmStill a good dood, going through some life stuff, as everyone is these days.
He gets sucked hard into his job and disappears for days/weeks,
Glad you got the right color.
I am not super sold on the looks from videos, but I haven't seen one in person, I'd like to. Also, new/unique designs tend to look weird to me initially then over time, I like them more and more.
I am intrigued with this thing. It's a steal at $$30K or whatever in a world where a Type R or GoRF is $50K. Hopefully the GR 'rolla won't be the same, but I suspect it will.

Good alternative
Power is almost the same, it features LSD, etc. It's not AWD but otherwise seems pretty close. I would doubt it feels as racey as the Hype R butmax225 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 11:48 amNot sure how this compares to a golf R or type r tho. The fact that it doesn’t feel numb or anything to you after a few years in a modded NC is

Only thing that’s not as good is the steering. It’s an electric rack of course its worse than the hydraulic.
It’s funny, I was hesitating to get a fwd car after being awd and rwd for s long but I could not give fewer fucks now, the car is that good.

I’ve been RWD exclusively for like nine years, I was a bit worried when considering the Type R as well, glad it’s working nicely for you. I think I’d miss the rotation on the track but it would also be fun to try a new platform for a new experience. I autox’d my FWD cars some, only took the to one track day.
