I think we're all forgetting the king of value in pizza... Costco food court. $10 for a giant ass pizza with everything, or basically nothing if that's your thing, on it? Can't be that shit. Dough is chewy, although I admit a bit bland. Everything else is as it should be. And at something like 5800 calories for a whole pie, you can't beat the Cal/$ ratio.

You've hit all of them already?troyguitar wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 5:34 pm We do have 3 independent pizza joints here and... They are not better than chains. Being independent doesn't make you good, it just means that you don't have enough desire OR money to open up more locations.

Papa Johns: Best and most "artisan" tasting/consistency of the "chains".
Pizza Hut: grease-fest, good for "experimental" pizzas/crust options (like cheese stuffed crust).
Dominoes: Bottom of the barrel, I am having a get together/need quick/cheap delivery pizza. Consistency of cardboard.
Mod Pizza: Like chipotle, but for pizza.
Piola (local joint in S.FLA when I was there): Best artisan/Italian pizza, bar-none.
Local favorite: Vocelli's pizza. It's one of those regional chains and their crust is amazeballs.

No I closed shop in 2005 It was called The Country Road Cafe on East Main on the opposite side of town from Larisons Turkey Farm. Glorified Luncheonette really. Open for Breakfast and Lunch. Prix Fixe dinners for special occasions (mostly wedding rehearsal dinners).
My tag line was "Wholesome Country Fare with a Gourmet Flair" . Homemade soups (I personally made all of them) , 8o different sandwiches, really interesting Omelets, homemade desserts.....
I thought I had the newspaper clipping (or the write up they did when I first opened) on Google photos, but its not there
TURBro edit: I just looked it up, its a fancy Mexican joint now

I still cannot believe you still haven’t tried Paradiso. Mod is 5/7, love their breadsticks. Gusto farm is just like that too with the chipotle assembly line. Lets dock there sometime when i get back.razr390 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 7:03 pm Papa Johns: Best and most "artisan" tasting/consistency of the "chains".

Another local place that's the is Pizza Artista. They've got one called the BOUCHERIE and it's like fucking candyBOUDIN ON EVERYTHING Y'ALL!!!American Cheese, Boudin, Smoked Cajun Sausage, Onions, Green Onions, Ghost Pepper -Mozzarella Blend, Cracklin, Steen's Syrup
we got this thing in nola from a place called Luke
Flammenkuchen $12.00
Alsatian onion tarte, bacon, Emmenthaler cheese
It was like a super thin , no sauce but like cooked down slightly browned onions in butter as "sauce" the cheese, and the 'bacon' was more like chunks of smoked pork belly.
It was amazing.
