I average 2.6 years if I count cars and motorcycles that I no longer own.
There must be a name for this type of spending addiction!? "Enthusiast" may not be entirely accurate .
I think they call them addicts.
Honestly though, I look at motorcycles as experiences, and I sure some some look at cars in the same way. It’s not about having the latest new thing or because one is better than the other, it’s all about experiencing and learning a new thing.

Motorcycles are cheap(er) though.
FTFY
Still with epic depreciation and higher interest rates (if financing), higher maintenance cost and consumables. Not to mention they’re parked in the garage for 4 months a year (with tags and insurance) and on rainy days and any day that needs a car to complete a task.
Definitely cheaper, but not nearly the value proposition most cars are. I’ve only made money on a bike (Hypermotard), but only becaus it was a deal. I’m hopeful to at least break even on the 400 and 650.

And they doing depreciate. Excluding taxes my loss on either bike was close to $1k
I really have no desire to the , sure I'd like the new fca stuff but it's so good at everything, decent on gas, suits my taste in car styling and lets me easily pack two kids or a dishwasher or an entire drum kit and it's fast enough to not get beaten by a 6cyl Camry. If roads were worse I'd think differently about my needs and probably jeep or rebel.
To be real I'd still have the TDI if it weren't for the buy back program, that car legit put cash in my pocket at the end of the day. For my driving style it was THE best economical choice. With gas diesel currently sitting 25 points higher I'm thinking Civic might be the modern day TDI.

I'm in the same boat with the FiST. I don't know what I'd get instead.

86 Volvo, that was about two years before I wrecked it.
93 grand am, I think about two years, maybe a little less, before someone else wrecked it.
86 300zx, failed experiment only lasted 4/5 months
89 T-Bird, 2-3 years before it died.
98 GTP, 2-3 years before I thought it was in trouble. In retrospect it probably wasn’t.
04 RSX-S, 6-7 years and it was time to upgrade.
12 WRX, less than 2 years when wife and I got tired of it spending so much time at the diller.
14 TDI, less than two years before I realized a German car with a complicated diesel setup was not the most cost effective car to own out of warranty.
15 Si, marching towards three years and counting.

I still wish that the Civic wasn't quite so big. Veloster R would be another option for me. Or the boring choice would be another Fiesta. I have no desire to GTI and a FoRS is more than I'd realistically want to spend.

It's just something that I generally wouldn't do.
