I like it more with a clean pallet. Switching from ER or scotch to for that matter to drum is challenging. I enjoyed it with a few drops of cold mineral water.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 9:40 pmI'll have to try some ice in it. I think the flavor profile is really good but sorta subdued.
Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough

So I gave into the advertising and bought a bottle of Old Camp Whiskey. Not the peach one. It was more for the lafs because the girl i'm seeing is a whiskey snob. Okay for an American whiskey, but she prefers the shit that tastes like paint thinner.

It's just a smooth whiskey. How is that disgusting? That's like saying Corona or Bud light sucks. It isn't the best but who doesn't like Corona or Bud ?[user not found] wrote: ↑Fri Nov 16, 2018 8:12 pmI had never heard of this before. Now I have. It looks disgusting.

4zilch's favorite tastes like paint thinner.
Calvinballs favorite tastes like a campfire, that was then set on fire by a bigger camp fire.
My favorite tastes like a refinery that's polluting way above legally allowed levels.
Gonna have to have some scotch later today after reading that.

Day 1, in the books.
MacDuff 14 year cask strength Single Malt
Sherry cask
57% ABV
Highland
Very floral to the nose with some obvious alcohol at this percentage. Lots of butterscotch flavor with some burn going down at 114 proof. The oils coated my tongue and now it tastes delightful 5 minutes later.
Not bad at all for the first one, I hope the next 24 stay at this quality level.

You should do that for [user not found]’s BBQ and Bourbon extravaganza![user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 10:33 pm This Johnny. Wow. Real good. I rarely advocate decanting a whiskey but this would be a perfect candidate for one.
Yearly check in to remind you fellas this is all horseshit. I could mix in an ounce of my piss after a night of asparagus tips and pineapple chunks for every 9 ounces of these high dollar spirits and you would be none the wiser.
Do you use one of those fancy wine type pumps that gets the air out of the bottle?[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 10:33 pm This Johnny. Wow. Real good. I rarely advocate decanting a whiskey but this would be a perfect candidate for one.

Day 2 down.
Wemyss Malts - Wooden Chest 46% ABV
This one was interesting for sure. Mellow on the nose. A little fruity. Definite woody flavors followed by fruit.. I wouldn't mind finding this blend and buying a bottle.

This one was from last night. Not really impressed.
Smelled very strong of alcohol, some flowery flavors initially then it completely disappeared on the tongue.

Just completely went to zero once your tongue was coated. Then it just left an alcohol taste.
Tonight's looks interesting @ 116 proof.
