Shit, I drove 16 hours in one day to talk to a dealership in Dallas (6 hours there), wasn't feeling it.... Looked at 3 other and none of those were happenin, then drove 4 hours south to Houston to talk to 2 more , and those were shady too.
Drove 4 hours home and started looking for a private sale and flew to Austin to pick it up.

Fuck him. Life lessons need to be learned. Maybe he realizes he burned a dozen bridges, maybe he doesn’t. Deserves all the shit he wanders in to and I’m not going to waste any more of my time trying to help him out.

I genuinely hope he sees this reaction from over a dozen friendly figures that legitimately tried to help the kid out, and realizes how his decision has destroyed any goodwill he’ll encounter around here again... and uses it as a learning experience.

Follow the advice of a few auto sales reps, dealership service writers and master techs, engineers, enthusiasts... or the guy that’s going to tech school and thinks dropping a wrench cracks a camshaft.

We've all probably played one against another in order to get the best , I know I did when shopping for the Subie. But I had no personal connection with either dealership and gave my salesbro at the "losing" dealership the deets on the I was able to get at the other. Even gave them a survey response describing why Falcone's sales process was preferable to what I went through at Tom Wood.

Still, if you have a relationshit with a guy, all else being equal you give that dude your business, especially when he was the first to work up something acceptable. What did was pretty shitty.

Anyone would shop smart, sure, but if a actually put in work and effort to make me a fair (in this case better than fair) offer and wasn't a dick bag, I'd give them my business. It's really not worth burning bridges/screwing someone who invested time and energy on me to save $100. I'm also more than happy to pay a little extra to work with someone who's personable, courteous, honest, and intelligent. Zack is all of these things.

Furthermore, he's done a ton of work to start and maintain this forum, which has offered a ridiculous amount of support, regardless of his choice to ignore it.

This move was not only inconsiderate, also shortsighted. He passed up the opportunity to work with someone with his interests in mind, despite the fact that he's hugely vulnerable to manipulation and price gouging. I'm betting he'll be the one that gets more fucked by not taking [user not found]'s deal. Good, he deserves it.
