part of me wishes I had my shop built with a car like this on the side so I could strip it down and completely clean it up.
Fun project. Frustrating at times, but it's good to have something to put some progress into.

As as this is, I'm trying to keep it somewhat restrained on the budget side of things. Reusing as much as possible, and sourcing used replacement parts (eBay) whenever I can.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 12:14 pm Now that it's come to this, perhaps some repower ideas?
Some gaskets I'm buying new from BMW, and are serious But, it's not going to be a show stopper, but won't be a '10 footer' either.
I'd consider an M50 or S52, both E36 era, and would be about 3-5k for the swap, engine, transmission, driveshaft and wiring harness.
The car runs, makes good noises, and drives well, I just want to make it pretty.

You have a garage?[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 2:34 pmI'm really missing my well-lit attached garage about right now.
Wrenching in the driveway in 40 degree weather sucks.

This vehicle is really quite awesome. It's gotta be a hit at every strip it runs.

Got it.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 2:43 pmI do but it's a bit small to wrench in right now, I think I'm going to do some rearranging and put the bikes in the basement of the house to free up some space. It's really only good for parking a car inside.
It's also uninsulated, and doesn't have electric yet. Plan is to get some electric out there this summer.

I hear ya. I installed lights in mine and OMG it's so awesome to work in now. It's a 2 car carport turned into a garage, but I've filled the sides up with work tables and yard stuff on the other side. But when I move my riding mower and motorcycle out I've got a good space on both sides of the car. Melon's got a wide ass garage so he can store stuff AND have 2 cars in it.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 2:43 pmI do but it's a bit small to wrench in right now, I think I'm going to do some rearranging and put the bikes in the basement of the house to free up some space. When I build a shop I plan on getting a used 2 post lift where I can put one car in the air and another underneath it.

Truthfully, the C5 has been stored at my Grandmother's and the bike is on the back porch, it's all E30 in there now.Acid666 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 3:43 pmI hear ya. My e30 was a 318is. I know the slow car fast thing. I loved it.
The problem is, it's only fun on a track or curvy roads. Which where you and I live is accessible like 3% of the time.

The chassis is good enough to where you can drift all the things easily.
Also, am I the only one on the forum who enjoys a good cruise?
Sure driving 10/10ths is good fun, but so is the window down on a beautiful day, listening to the engine purring along.
