Does the Zed still need a... radiator something? I can't remember. I'm assuming this is the same one that was in your dad's garage?
same car. coolant fan fixed. bmw and their fuckery of multi use single fan with infinite variable speeds. $550 part fixed it.stripethree wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2018 3:08 pm Does the Zed still need a... radiator something? ABS module needs to be rebuilt, from sitting. Has a few bumps and scratches from
ordered a used NA 1.8 miata cam position sensor on the flea bay. got a spare 4 pin connector to wire up my own fresh connection. Supposedly will derive cam position and crank position with deafult "miata" setting in tuna studio for ms 3.57.
shipped a few more parts over to Biloxi. now the waiting game for a week. Then lots of stuff should show up at home boys shop.
Heading to grand isle for mardi gras and home boy going to nola.So I'll probably look at touching base with him on friday next week. Its sad how dead the mk1 forum is on vortex.

id also really like some cool ATS cups. 13x8. BUT alas. thjey are rare and small. My swoon has no place. Cant run larger brakes with such small wheels.
i'll probably seek out some 15x7 wheels to race autox. Right now I have an ugly set of 15x6 et45 miata bbs rz's..they are only 10lbs and will run the 195/50 hot tw200 tars. a 10mm spacer should have them sit about right.

I like Mk1 Rabbits. As maybe one of the few people here who's driven a Mk1 GTI, I think it's cool.dubshow wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2018 2:55 pm not that anyone cares about my rabbit.

Yea those were great, too. Better actually in some ways because the Westmoreland plant where the Rabbits were built had had shitty QC. The Jettas felt MUCH better screwed together.

Dat 80's Murican build quality. But I remember on my mom's Mk1 the doors closed better when you cracked a window so it seemed really tight. Are the seals still good enough on yours to make it behave similarly?

My brother had an '85 Cabriolet. I agree it was more solid than mom's '83 GTI. Cabs, like my Scirocco, were made at the Karmann Coachworks in Osnabrück. My 'Rocco was pretty solidly built, too.
