Quikjack brethren, I have assembled my QJ, just need some tips.
1. Run the hydraulic lines on top of the frames, yes, noplace else to do it?
2. Power unit at the front or rear?
3. When done using it, use bleeder valve to release pressure before storing?
4. When first using, fill up resevoir with hydraulic fluid, which will then need refilled again after pumping through lines, yes?
4. You just store the lines full of fluid, right? How much leakage is there?
Thanks in advance.
1:. Not sure on the newer unit, but on mine the lines run under the rail out the side into the middle of the 2.
2: front.
3: you loosen the screw lid before and during use, close it only for storage.
4: mine didn't need to be refilled. One was enough and I just lifted it a could times before putting a car on it to make sure they went up.
4.1: yes. None, maybe a half a drop when you disconnect them sits on the face of the disconnect.

Thank you sir. Very comprehensive.

Not every Corvette is loved gents. Was at Wal Mart today and witnessed this gem.
1. EVERY POSSIBLE tailight chrome thingies, completely destroyed paint, note sun annihilated rear window, more dirt on those sweet ramz bro than behind Zil's taillights. An abomination.
50th AE and everything!
Makes me realize I need to do some more exterior modifications to mine.
This car was a total shit sandwich.

That's just your average C5...
Gotta remember C7 is already 4 almost 5 model years old... so C7 is nearly "old" C6 is up to 13 years old.... C5 is straight up poorvette... until it gets beat to shit more and nearly all of the cars sold are in that shape and they become "classics" ala C3

Not around here. Lots of yellow and red C5s in mint condition powered by Viagra munching old men with bad knees. This thing is super fucked up....you could put a finger through the rear plastic window.

That's the dichotomy of the C5 and general corvette ownershit. You get the "creampuffs" that get stored due to hip replacements and never taken out due to 3rd bypasses. And on the flipside you get YO MAN I GOT bitcoins or cash FO YO RIDE. Vette makes em vette for 10k crew.

Interior excluded, mine is in great shape, considering how hard I've pounded on it in the past few years.

I'm a fucking failure.
My C5's got some scratches and stuff outside it didn't have when I got it from an old man cream puff, but all in all it's in great shape, as are most I see around Charlotte and the US. Hopefully it's a $14k thing.
As time moves on, and C5's get cheaper and cheaper, I think they'll fill the spot preciously occupied by the IROC-Z. The up and coming Redneck Rocket lies in wait.

ALL 03's have 50th badges, but not all are 50th editions. It's the perfect storm.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

Somewhere in between IROC-Z and Miata, really. I think many will get picked up by track day bros and younger car guys looking for something fun. It's still a great driving experience and a fast car.

And they'll always be a step above a C4.

Maybe the fear of the 'vette tax' will scare the trailer dwellers off.
We'll be rocking C7's be then anyway.
I think it will for the most part.
I dunno if I'll be able to convince myself to on a newer vette, maybe ever. I'm just too

There's an old neighborhood here that is one of the first tract homes built in town from the 70's that are almost all rentals and 90% of the people that live there are hispanic. The data my wife sees shows that most of the people that live there have no education to speak of, 4-5 kids per family and the average income is low for the area. There are no fewer than 3 C5's in there that I have seen, including a black one that is jacked up and has what looks like 24" wheels on it.
