My for example was near perfect, 2 years old with 25k miles and documented maintenance. Bone stock, single owner, no smoking, no pets, no kids, perfect interior. Tires weren't worn because I had aftermarket wheels+tires on it while I owned it, then put the stockers back on for trade-in. KBB $20k, started at $14k and would only go as high as $16k.
To be fair, I think this is a thing. I felt like my 2011 could have fetched more, but I did get a great deal on the Golf R, so I let it slide at $16.5k to make it simple and get home quickly with the newer superior interior.
I was suprised the FCA gave me 4k for the :gti: on trade in. 161k miles, tires worn to shit, check engine light, fried ECM, needs an intake manifold cleaning, modded to hell with ugly curb rashed wheels. They came in at 3k, I asked for 4k and they said "sure"

Though...and I'm surprised I'm saying this...why not just do a 6.4 Hemi and keep it in the family?

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

I plan on selling it private party one day and retiring on that check.

When I sold my Saab to KBB through the the final offer was a few $k off due to "condition adjustment" which was because I was overly critical on the online eval. "Guaranteed value" is just "guaranteed to not be higher".
Depends on the car. When I bought my STi I went to two different deaerships, the first went through the KBB trade-in route and offered me $8,500. The second actually sat down with me and we looked up listings for similar cars within ~200 miles. They were all listed for $14k-$15k, so the second dealer said "we think we can sell yours for $14k, but to give ourselves some sort of margin on the deal we can offer your $11.5k."
Needless to say I went with the second dealership. They sold it in less than two weeks for exactly $14k after listing it for $14.5k.
I loved both the ads for the jeep. Fantastic single cut to contrast the jurassic movie chain. Also, they did fantastic to get jeff goldblaum (sp?) back in it. I was all

I LOVE the anti-manifesto add. Absolutely 5/7
Have you applied to FCA yet?
Seriously. I want to so badly.
Just made a job move at my current company, shouldn't say to what, but I'm hoping to get more Jeepiness going.

I wonder why jeep decided to advertise during super bowl. Seems like a lot of money to on already pretty darn good brand awareness etc.
A lot of people probably don't know that there's a new Wrangler.

How do you think they maintain that brand awareness?
Where are these mangos?

Yea, but they have more to sell than ever, and they won't sell themselves.

There's only so many hard-cores who know everything there is to know. They have to constantly keep trolling for more 's to make more hard cores out of them.

I'd say 80% of the buyers just buy it for the "style" I don't most ppl understand anything about it...

People still have to be shown the style. And that's done via advertising, whether on TV or print, etc.
