I just bought the Velop 3 pack for $339, was $499 leading up to the sale.
Coming in on Wed and I will see this weekend how well they work.
Nice. I saw the velop for $339 but that still seems like a lot to me.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 7:06 pmI just bought the Velop 3 pack for $339, was $499 leading up to the sale.

I won't have the Orbi for at least a few weeks but that $237 price must've been a mistake. It jumped back up to $279 already and it's totally sold out.

So, I got the Velop setup and I'm pretty happy so far.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 8:11 pmNice. I saw the velop for $339 but that still seems like a lot to me.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 7:06 pm

Simple to setup and I can assign my own LAN address and tightly control access of devices and priority. Has all the features I want like using a VPN and DDNS provider at the gateway as well as advanced port forwarding.
This unit also has far better performance with regards to buffer bloat and seems to have much better latency speeds. Overall transfer up/down is about the same, but WIfi devices score higher on the speedtests.
Desktop:
Bufferbloat on the expensive Asus was always a "C".
The antennas in these provide a very strong signal. I can actually get almost full strength in the garage at the sprinkler controller with only the one setup, but adding the other 2 covers my whole house and yard in strong signal.

I can't wait to get my Orbi. Should have it on Friday.

Late to the game here but I have the Milwaukee M12 drill and impact and they're pretty damn good. Batteries last a good amount of time and charge rather quickly. Drill has enough ass to drill into concrete so that's not bad.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 12:47 pm Oh, I bought this the other day.. I've wanted an electric one for some time since the drill/driver and impact are sometimes too bulky and sometimes I don't want to use air.
First impressions are pretty good with this one. Will see over time if it holds up.

If my name was Rudy or Crang, yesterday would have been the best day of my life.
Gf and and I had two individual phone plans with AT&T, we're paying like $310 total, knew we could do better. My kid has an iphone 5 whose battery was dying, was going to get her something better for Christmas, was going to give her by Iphone 6S+ and upgrade. GF needed a new phone, her Samsung was shitting the bed. So we walk into the AT&T store at 11:00 a.m. We took a 2.5 hour lunch.....and left the store at 6:30 p.m.
For $30 less than we are collectively paying now per month, and additional $800 in credits, we have unlimited talk/data and text on an Iphone X for me, a Samsung 8+ for her, they gave me an Iphone 8 for free for the kiddo, with unlimited errthang, they gave us an Ipad for free with tri unlimited, and..........wait for it Brad and nation.....a free Apple WATCH. am I gonna do with that.
Anyway, plenty of useless junk was acquired, and total bill was reduced, I guess. 7 hours to make all that shit happen doe.

"no other changes to plan right, so new cost is old bill +23.xx dollars right?"
Costco yes
signing paperwork said first months estimated bill was 160 I almost walked out of deal. I had names and id's written down. I said if my bill comes in at 160, im coming in and returning this phone and charging back every transaction, and i'm not sighing anything that says 160 fucking dollar bill on it. They assured me it wouldn't be that much.
For once they were right and it was wasted
That said, i'm never not buying a phone unlocked and in fucking cash again, ever.

I thought about going for the 7000, but they are 20 lbs heavier each that the 5000 and Waxer talked me out of it. The Brahhoe is 5K, and I doubt I'll replace it with an even more ridiculous truk, so I should be good.Melon wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 2:52 pmhttp://www.quickjack.com/why-quickjack/ ... ana-flood/Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 2:48 pm In much more exciting news, I ordered the Quickjack BL5000, stoked about that.

Yup. There's always a factor of safety designed into things.. especially in things that lift or have the potential to kill people if not used as described. The actual rating is for the hydraulic motor's power, not the frame itself. I got the 5,000 because I lift my crew cab with it and it weighs about 5,100. The motor is likely rated to push 5,500-6,000 but they engineer it to do that and "safely" raise 5K. The frame assembly can actually hold something like 16,000 pounds.Melon wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 3:24 pmThey underrate them, you'll be good.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 3:00 pm

They ran tests on it's structural integrity with a juiced up hydraulic motor (because the 7k can't lift 20K pounds)... And it passed with flying colors. It's on their youtube page somewhere.
This thing is worth its weight in gold. I went up and down multiple times this weekend doing my pulley job, and it's a backsaver. I can get the car up in the air to get under it, and then 30 seconds later drop it down so I can do something from the top and not have to get on a damn step stool to reach in.
Easily the best major purchase for my garage I've bought by a landslide.

Replaced my vintage 2001-era cable modem with a supposedly better newer SB6141, DOCSIS 3.0 and all that jazz... speeds haven't changed.
We pay for 60/5 Mbps at $60/mo.

I had this happen when I upgraded to a 6141. I called Comcast, told them I’d upgraded and had them basically turn me off and back on again. I finally got my Orbi setup this past weekend and everything about it is better than the Comcast router. Speeds are excellent and consistent across all devices. No more dropping signals which was a frequent occurrence with the Comcast wifi.
