Pentastar + 8AT sounds alright. I'd skip the turbo for a few years until they figure out how to build it. New chassis from FCA is bound to have bullshit problems to sort out, but you won't own this outside standard warranty anyway so who cares. You would get to enjoy Heep Renegayde loaners on a semi-regular basis.

The new model won't have incentives at all. But. It will also be in strong demand and should retain value better than even the JK. Especially because the reviews are bound to over this vehicle with the added gearing and updated looks/interiors.

I’d go very low option for sure. Btw somehow the 2.slow jeep is the lightest one. But even then it is 3800lbs in the lightest shape.

Rubicon +120
Diesel +300
4k lbs is a lot for two liters to chug around...

Also about first year issues ... I don’t think I’ll own it outside of warranty

As we all know used jks cost as much or more than new unless they don’t have a pentastar and 6 figure miles.

But even TJs are insane, it seems they moved up in price. You can’t find a nice one under 10,000! Honestly fuck that. They are two decades old now and have been beat to shit... and they go for 50% msrp that’s insane

As much as I like the JK, I think it only makes sense to buy one right now if you're going to keep it for 6-10 years or so. If not, then just wait for the new model.

I'm over turbo engines so I'd go for the big dick V6.

For city parking, definitely, or for highway commutes. Also, the hard top is a no brainer for northerners with harsh winters

I'm just a around kinda driver and live in leafy white picket fence suburban wonderland so it's a non-issue. I'd like going top down in a Jeep and the hard top makes it impossible unless you have a garage and a roommate who wants to help remove the top regularly.

You can just remove part of the roof, I think it is the best way to jeep. That's how I did it in hawaii

Hit the local and test drove a JKU and JK. JKU was a sport with 3.21's and the JK was a Willy's. Got some initial numbers on the Willy's because 3.73s are absolutely necessary on these, the 3.21s are an abomination of a gear ratio.

I mean, I have the 3.21on 32" stock road tars and its just not that bad. My buddies loaded out rubicunt on 3.73 with 37" is lolz slow. We played around when I first got mine and it just walks away from him at a light. Both of ours are auto. He sold me on the auto life in jeep for trail riding simply because you dont have 3 feet to operate clutch brake and throttle at steep inclines to keep from slipping back.

Yup, which is why I promptly walked out of the diller. I mostly wanted to get a little seat time.

Both JK and JKU were auto's, with the JKU having the 3.21's. The JKU was omg slow, merging onto a 60mph highway from a dead stop was a little nerve racking. I don't want to have to floor the thing to leave a stop light. The 3.73s seemed to be pretty well matched with the 32 inch tarz and auto trans. Test drives weren't that long, but got a mix of some highway and local road driving.

For my purposes and wants, I'd get the 3.73's otherwise I'm throwing $1200 at a re-gear. Willy's seems to be the way to go for me; going to check another diller and see what they feel like doing since they have 70 something JKU's in stock.

Yeah the max tow package gives 3.73. I don’t feel the jeep is scary slow. I do floor it often around town. But anything on the interstate, the 3.21 is perfect. I was okay with 22mpg doing 75-80.
