It was pretty much a Mount Suribachi type effort to finally settle on this car.....it isn't going anywhere, misleading buttons or no.

is that god damn sun screen all over the buttons ?Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2017 8:13 pm Update:
Lots of changed oil.
Had the factory change kit for the BMW ($72.00 for 7 quarts of 0W-20 "BMW" oil and filter" The car is at 5100 miles, and has two warranty issues.
1. A couple of times, when cold, you put the car in reverse, step on the brake and it kicks to neutral.
2. Fake warranty issue:
See the two vent control showing three areas you can set it to, low (feet) medium and high vents? On the passenger side it only lights up as showing two possible settings. This triggered the gf. Warranty tech says nah, only two settings available on right despite flagrant promises of the button.
While there I had them change the oil because it will show on the carfux. Labor for BMW oil change? 50 bucks.
Changed Brahoe oil, took 20 minutes, 5K interval, took in for tire rotation at same time, tires are shot, got 45K out of Toyo ATII's which look good and are quiet as well. Will get another set, all in for tires, tax, mount and balance, and free rotation and road hazard, $891. I could save like $50 with online and paying for all that, but it's a local shop, same manager for the last 12 years, always takes care of me, they can have their money.
Corvette oil change was a mess, put a quart of dirty oil on the garage floor, fuck it I'm buying one of those Quickjacks within the year. Need it to access my remote clutch bleeder without cursing. Put in the bitchin blue Dimple plugs. Sounds like a Christmas present from Santa, to Dad. Low car needs 4 wheel lift. Oil changes complete for the duration of 2017.
CSB.
car... Time to get a new one or kill oneself.
happened with the Neutral issue? "Software"?
I have to take my car to a BMW shop after getting it on 11/16. My next date is showing as 10/17, for a "brake fluid" service according to the car itself. Oil change not due for another month.

Goo on buttons is women shite of some kind. They could not replicate (of course) the neutral issue and "reset" the tranny, so yes, software issue.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2017 7:42 pmis that god damn sun screen all over the buttons ?Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2017 8:13 pm Update:

Mine is smoother than a modern civic, accord or anything with 4 cylinders. But it isn't super smooth.... IE occasionally I feel a slight lumpiness to it. Which seems a bit odd.
This was increasingly evident after my ride in the Crown vic and the S class (07 with 90k miles) my stepmom is keeping around for now.

FINALLY some decent weather around here. Highs in the high 80's lows in the low 60's. Washed up the fleet.

New Meatz on the Brahoe. Stuck with Toyo AT IIs, got 42K out of the last set, quiet, decent looking, can't report on offroad prowess unless driving on dirt roads to wineries qualifies as "wheelin'"
A little Ranger method this afternoon to clean up the clutch fluid in the GS.
That's all I have to report.

A questionable purchase for sure. The empty receiver was ugly, this is equally ugly. Net zero.

What I'm not sure about is how the owner of a ZR2 is calling me out for brodom on much of anything. I could festoon my ancient truk with Chebby stuff and you would still look down at me from the pinnacle of Bro Mountain.Detroit wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2017 5:35 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2017 5:32 pm

You're not wrong...though, I would counter that the chrome bowtie plug is more backlot Tijuana then Glamis.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2017 5:38 pmWhat I'm not sure about is how the owner of a ZR2 is calling me out for brodom on much of anything. Someone else makes those gaudy ones. Ours are just simple black plastic. I don't think we have any in 1.25", but I could be wrong.
