I wish I got paid OT..Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2017 6:18 pm working late. about to leave. going to be some oteee this week me thinks.
Just got a call from one of the jobs I'd applied to the day I found out I was being laid off of my last job... Checked the Indeed listing I'd applied from and they have the salary listed at 25% more than I'm at now... definitely tempting to call the guy back and hear what he has to say. Would definitely consider it if I could negotiate the salary at 33% more than I'm at meow.
I should probably just keep my head down here and build some tenure though.

i dont get paid traditional OT, but if I'm over 40 billable hours I get the time over 40 at straight time. This week will qualify.SAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2017 6:30 pmI wish I got paid OT..Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2017 6:18 pm working late. about to leave. going to be some oteee this week me thinks.

I don't get shit for working over 40 hours. Even if I got straight pay for the additional hours, I'd be cool with that. I work a good 9 hours every day... not a whole lot past 40/week, but I'd love to get paid for those extra five hours.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2017 6:42 pmi dont get paid traditional OT, but if I'm over 40 billable hours I get the time over 40 at straight time. There are good weeks two, 4th of July week I'm only planning to do about 10 hours and just call in sick.

I'm excited about the prospect of that new job. Read the description again on the thing I had from Indeed in my inbox, and it seems like a good blend of what I did at Northrop and what I do here. Phone interview at 12 tomorrow.

Funny cause just yesterday I was thinking how it was weird that nobody except for this job that I got hit me up from all the applications I submitted that weekend.
Not expecting anything out of this, but if it happens, the increase in salary, plus the reduced commute would be super Did some searching on Google, and they have better benefits than I do here too.

I really wanted to be good here and get something long term on my resume.. If things don't work out with this job I'll stay here for at least a few years like I had originally planned. Not going to apply anywhere else, but figure since this other company is already considering me, I might as well give it a shot.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2017 8:14 pmJobSAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2017 8:10 pm

Came home from interview with one PD to a rejection letter from the highway patrol.
Everything happens for a reason, so I am still pushing forward and excited for the new opportunity. Hope I made a lasting impression on the panel today.
If nothing works out with applications by the end of the year, I will begin to apply for higher end jobs that make use of my degree + certificate and prior experience.
Maybe something administrative at FIU, since I have good rapport with employees there and I love the campus.
