My bike lists at $4199 with an SLX crankset, XT drivetrain and a 34 FitGrip fork and a lifetime warranty.
I'd be very hesitant to drop coin on a carbon bike with a 3 year warranty. I'd look for at least 5 years if not lifetime.

I think you need to fledwax on some XTR drivetrain parts...fledonfoot wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 2:55 pmMy bike lists at $4199 with an SLX crankset, XT drivetrain and a 34 FitGrip fork and a lifetime warranty.

Yep the Orbea is the better buy overall.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 2:55 pmMy bike lists at $4199 with an SLX crankset, XT drivetrain and a 34 FitGrip fork and a lifetime warranty.

I can't justify the scratch for XTR when XT is pretty much the same tech just slightly heavier.Apex wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 2:58 pmI think you need to fledwax on some XTR drivetrain parts...fledonfoot wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 2:55 pm

SLX is the true value play with the exception of cassettes. Usually the XT cassette and chain is where your money is best spent. Above SLX level you're getting a really minor improvement for a lot more $$fledonfoot wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 3:11 pmI can't justify the scratch for XTR when XT is pretty much the same tech just slightly heavier.

(but I agree on the brakes)[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 3:38 pmLove the Horsethief minus the stupid SRAM drivetrain/brakes.
Horsethief's major issue is the stupid 3 year warranty.

I really am on that color, even after seeing it in person. But I bet they'd on it.

Zil and I saw this bike on a ride at Mercer early this year right after you first mentioned it.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 3:47 pm This is still available apparently....

Yeah, I'm on the SRAM stuff...[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 3:38 pmLove the Horsethief minus the stupid SRAM drivetrain/brakes.
I'd have to spend some time with a 29er to find out if I like the size if I were really in the market. Fled's 27.5 is and I felt totally comfortable on it.

I tried riding a few 29ers and the wheels just felt massive to me coming from 26" wheels.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 10:37 pmI tried going down to a 27.5 and it felt like a toy to me, so I stuck with the 29er.

Too for my budget anyway. Wife is already unhappy with the idea of the $1,550 I wanted to spend on that Superfly before it sold. She'd just laugh at me if I asked for a $3,200 bike.
