Rather than telling her, lead by example. Try to get her to eat more lean proteins by doing so yourself. Then you can casually mention things like "I read this study about increasing protein intake, blah blah blah..." She's not going to eat healthy if you don't.

I do. I have been bringing healthy lunches. I've been bringing an apple and two clementines, yogurt, and a turkey sandwich with no condiments and healthy bread for lunch. She gets lunch for free at the cafeteria at her hotel, but will still get the bad stuff.SAWCE wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:24 pmRather than telling her, lead by example. I know, I just feel like it's a waste to go to these soul cycle classes randomly, without any type of schedule, (not even once per week).Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:27 pmThat's her choice.nuggstein wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:26 pm

Now, I'm not on the "cards are the devil!!!!" train by any means, but literally everything you are eating is just carbs. You get a little bit of protein from your yogurt, unless it's a greek yogurt and has more protein than carbs, and a little bit from the presumably shitty packaged turkey meat your eating. "Healthy" and "good for your body composition" are two vastly different ways of eating, and I'd still argue that just because you eat three pieces of fruit, you don't eat healthy. As far as I know, you don't exercise at all, so if we're using cardiovascular markers as health (I think that's what we determined in a previous OT with an epic vs battle) your girlfriend is probably more healthy than you even if she eats "worse".nuggstein wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:26 pmI do. Hmm, never thought of it that way.SAWCE wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:33 pmNow, I'm not on the "cards are the devil!!!!" train by any means, but literally everything you are eating is just carbs. Just start including some more proteins, and some veggies. Talk about how good they are. Maybe she'll subconsciously start slowly choosing better foods at these provided lunches.nuggstein wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:34 pmHmm, never thought of it that way.SAWCE wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:33 pm

This is why I play hockey. I don't play often enough for it to actually be effective as exercise, plus half the time I end up eating stupid things afterward... It's just fun.

Right. It's ok to do something like this for fun and not get "health" benefits from it.troyguitar wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:41 pmThis is why I play hockey. Though, I would argue that you still get some benefit...better than sitting at home on the couch eating chips.

It's hard to say... the problem is I'll go play a hockey game and then get a giant roast beef sandwich and curly fries on my way home. If I didn't play, I wouldn't eat that much junk. I'm guessing 20 minutes of ice time doesn't offset 1500 calories of junk.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:43 pmRight. Not in a calories in, calories out manner, but it certainly has benefits in terms of cardio health at minimum.troyguitar wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:49 pmIt's hard to say... the problem is I'll go play a hockey game and then get a giant roast beef sandwich and curly fries on my way home. Sitting in the dfw airport. The airport was closed this morning due to weather. So all flights are delayed.

I figure it's probably a wash at worst and it's the only "exercise" that I really enjoy so

On the health conversation. I had a salad for lunch. It was also breakfast since I was running late to catch my flight. I'm hungry already.

In the afternoon it spiked up over 102, she was shaking, and lost muscular control of her left eye.
