Yea that scares me a bit... and you have to shift with the left hand... That has got to be odd...
It is "winter" there but that just means 55-70 F
I guess I'll be seeing the "real" hobit house...

This is why I've yet to go to Ireland since most vacation packages I've seen involve renting a car and driving from village to village, which seems great, but left side driving coupled with left handed shifting (what? first is AWAY from you?? ) have left me about doing it.
Your trip sounds great Hope you have a great time and you better post mucho pics.

I have driven manual in Jamaica and Ireland, manual both times. Left side driving is NBD. You get used to it quickly.

Instead of pissing money away on the far side of nowhere, why don't you buy a 4X4 or something you will be able to touch in 12 days?

That's what my brother says. He drove in Ireland and on Cyprus and said it was NBD. Funky right turns too make me .Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 5:39 pmAs noted, NBD, you get used to it quickly.wap wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 5:04 pm

I don't know why I never thought about first being away from you.. I haven't thought too hard about them, but I just figured the transmissions were flipped, but that doesn't make any sense from a build cost perspective.wap wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 5:04 pmThis is why I've yet to go to Ireland since most vacation packages I've seen involve renting a car and driving from village to village, which seems great, but left side driving coupled with left handed shifting (what? first is AWAY from you?? ) have left me about doing it.

Pedals and shift pattern are the same, just using your left hand instead of right.SAWCE wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 8:03 pmI don't know why I never thought about first being away from you.. My parents would let me shift when I was like 7 or 8 from the passenger seat.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 9:10 pmI actually learned the shifting bit of driving stick from the passenger seat - it ain't hard.
I also drove my buddy's Colorado home from Applebee's one day from the passenger seat, just because I could. I mean, I dropped it into gear while he was outside the truck talking to some chick. He had to jump on the drivers door and hang off the side as I drove around the Applebee's parking lot.

Just curious if they've lined anything up yet, and also what they'd be interested in doing besides driving.
It was a long time ago I was there but I might be able to help.

I rented a car in England, drove it all over the place, it wasn't a big deal. The only issue I really had at all was drifting to the left as I naturally align my body to the line on my left. Shifting was fine.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 5:38 pmI have driven manual in Jamaica and Ireland, manual both times. Left side driving is NBD. You get used to it quickly.
in4pics, Australia/NZ seem so awesome.

All is well in Griff world... Life just threw a bunch of shit at me and didn't have time to DFD for a bit. I'm back in the game now.
