For BMW though.... a company whose restrained and classy designs I consider to be a (if not THE) pinnacle of automotive beauty .... this new look is a bit over done...... ok, nowhere near as bad as Honda but then again two different classes of vehicle....... one could say that automotive royalty should know better......
PS frankly its not terribad....I mean it is still a beautiful car but I still stick to my point....

The black fascia exhaust surround is too beeg/too obnoxious. Also +1 on what Troy said about this being the new M5

To stick to the BMW theme. What is the consensus on the M2...
Is the N55 good enough in the 2016-18 models or should one spring for the S55. I am mixed on this one.... the N motor is older and proven, and the M motor tends to be garbage reliability post 50k miles wise... What say yee...?
Significant power difference
350 wheel for the N 2016-18
410 wheel for the S 19+ Competition

if this is the biggest disagreement we have, we should get married.
Thing is, styling is SUPER subjective. The objective measures are indisputable, the car is badass. Too bad I hate the look. But I also have zero interest in purchasing. I'm in Troy's camp, not working anymore is priority #1 these days.

BMW rice has been slowly increasing... there is no denying that. Some of the stick on carbon bits that the forum bros go crazy for are completely from me. CHIN SPLITTTTERRRRSSSSS on a car that can't clear a 4" curb.

BMW normalizing the Camry redesign,
I generally really like the M2, and some of the front end shots make the M3 look badass but the M3 is generally a no from me, Dawg. Same goes for the redesigned R, I just don't enjoy current German styling.

Both are designed for the Saudi Prince in grad school leaning against said car in the above referenced photos.

I thought the same. Funny enough, my 9 yr old likes the Camry redesign, and says that the black roof gives the car the edge it needs to be cool.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 6:11 pmBoth are designed for the Saudi Prince in grad school leaning against said car in the above referenced photos.

German design went from restrained to gaudy fast.

New Camry XSE, black roof, no spoiler is the ticket.Tarspin wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 6:13 pmI thought the same. Funny enough, my 9 yr old likes the Camry redesign, and says that the black roof gives the car the edge it needs to be cool.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 6:11 pm

It makes a lot of sense for someone needing a long wheelbase highway beater. I'm going to consider it once the wheels fall off of my , for now I'm going to enjoy looking at actual functioning vents.

Not a fan[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 7:40 pmI think we're about to see the Japanese do the opposite. Newer Toyota stuff has been somewhat restrained.
New Highlander is a 5/7 elegant design.
The Mirai though is and has wild incentives right now in CA
I do not love the grill but I am with you, it is otherwise a very good looking car (looks like an M3 which is a good thing) and seems pretty damn sweet to me
I think the hate is unjustified. The grill isn't that bad, just not as good as some previous M3 front ends. It looks amazing in that green, I feel it was most offensive in the red color.

Assuming their dyno is properly calibrated, I'd say that 478 is probably over a fair bit over 500hp at the crank.

Yes. I didn't read anything about which gear was used etc, but I saw one trap like 122-124mph in the 1/4 using proper gos timing gear so it checks out.

I do expect low volume gasoline engines to continue for the Elites, such as the GT3, Lambo/Rari etc.
Save you all the click. Obviously this isn't a surprise. But according to the CEO of the company, the automaker will not develop any new internal combustion engines, and will begin phasing out the current gasoline and diesel engines and replacing them with electric powertrains.
