What are y'alls fuel prices doing ?
We're officially over $4 in most places for the donkey piss now. Which doesn't really come as a shock. Before someone goes in and says.. OMG but it was just due to "negative oil prices last year" here is a chart. And we're above where we were when the Plandemic hit.

I paid $2,49 for 87 yesterday, which is admittedly the cheapest I've seen it in some time. It's usually in the upper $2 range lately.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 11:58 am What are y'alls fuel prices doing ?

I was more surprised by the spread I noticed when standing at the pump from 87-89-91-93. 2.49-2.89-3.09-3.29
Clearly 87 is a loss leader or something, and the CT runs on 87 no problem but if I had selected the Hemi, which everyone claims gets the same fuel efficiency so you're "stupid not to get it" needs 89. SO my 20 gallons for $50 would have been nearly $10 more if I had the Hemi. That would add up fast when it gets ~400 miles of range.

I ran that hemi on 85 in my rental in Utah. It didn't seem to care I do know that for the "non coastal" states the spread between premium and non is like 50%. Out here it is 10% at most. Still bizarre to me.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 12:04 pmI paid $2,49 for 87 yesterday, which is admittedly the cheapest I've seen it in some time. Just cruising without much load, fuel probably doesn't matter a ton.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 12:08 pmI ran that hemi on 85 in my rental in Utah. The spread is super bizarre. I don't understand why it's different for different regions of the country.

Went through a small few months of putting straight 93 into the GTI when gas was cheap AF. (93 was the price of 87 now). But then gas stations were running short on 93 or 89 so been putting 87 in the GTI like the gas cap cover recommends as “minimum” and been the whole way

Costco has consistently good prices. We have a Costco right by our house but it doesn’t have a gas station attached. The nearest Costco with a gas station is like 30 minutes away and makes it not worth it unless I’m in that area.

This morning 87 was up to $3.19 at my local Mobile. It was $2.99 2 days ago.

Nobody cares in general and outside of the land of fruits and nuts, there is good reason for indifference as gas is cheap AF.

Also you shouldn't care about gas prices if you do. You make plenty of cashish and you intentionally purchased a vehicle that gets shitty mileage because you needed to sit up high.

Costco is the cheapest other than the Santa Rosa Tribal Pitstop but Costco gas here is 10% ethanol so some of the savings is illusory.

Here is when gas prices are too high. When the Tahoe is on fumes and I can't fill it up for $100, then the pump shuts off and indirectly accuses me of being a tweaker. That's when gas is too damn high. About $5.10.

There are mid $4 prices here. Unless you shop around and force a Costco stop to save 30/40 cents. I was surprised that Nevada was in the mid 3s. Then I came home to $4sDesertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 3:58 pm Here is when gas prices are too high. $5 has proven to be the breaking point for most people. As long as I'm not forced to drive a ton of miles for work, IDGAF overall.
Gas to keep my boat going will be my biggest fuel expense this year. #firstworldproblems
