Apparently the V8 wrangler has 10k+ mark ups everywhere... holy :fullretard: then again, a lot of Jeep guys have 100-200k fully built jeeps, and the production is likely quite limited. Not surprised at the thievery of the willing

What’s 100k between friends when money is free :)

I mean, it's nice but I'd be buying a C6 at that price, personally.

:notwrong:

Big fan of the magnesium wheels paired with the gray interior, but a C6 is probably a better bet overall.

A Z06 with those miles these days is going to cost you $25k+ most likely. Didn't say it was a great deal, it doesn't seem that out of line honestly.

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/deta ... /overview/

17k miles, $26.2k, for example.

The local Corvette dealer here sells base C5s for 20-25k all day to boomers

I paid $12k for mine two years ago @45k miles. Private party with previous paintwork donr though.

I paid 25k for a 2002 C5 with 19k miles on it in 2005. Shocked to see them maintain the value as well as they did, then again, inflation ... 25k in 05 is 35k today

Huh, maybe they are just more expensive than I thought and that black one isn't bad. The mag wheels alone are worth a good bit.

Mine has 116K miles so it's pretty worthless I think, so I haven't bothered paying much attention.

FRC is definitely the worst config. None of the Z06 goodness but you also don't get the airy interior, top off fun, or huge hatch space/practicality.

I don't think I would even choose a Z06 over my C5, I like having more cargo room and it feels so much bigger/better inside with the lexan roof.

That’s pretty nuts, why didn’t he just reach out to :mahtroy: directly?! And avoid all that middleman markup.

The pic did look like New York and the correct 86 spec. After all how many green limited edition 86s are sold on the regular

Have your friend shoot you the VIN so I can research it for :science:
Troy gave me his vin earlier this year to research some parts. I can save a lot of trouble.

Despite your personal preference, due to its rarity and being lighter than its targa counterpart, the FRC commands a premium over the coupe.

:notwrong:

Still don't get it.

I recall hearing the plan for the C5 early called for higher sales volume than Corvette had really done before, all to pay off the insane cost of the platform. Out of concern of being able to meet that volume, the FRC was supposed to be the base "cheap" version with no options, light, and simple. The volume play. Thing was, the C5 was so popular, they didn't need the base model anymore, so it became the Z06 instead. Those early year FRC's were indeed oddballs. And being pre 01 cars, non-fixable EBCM. Many were turned into track cars (as they were kind of intended to be), but I guess aside from collector status for "oddballs", I really don't get the appeal.

Weird, I've never noticed a price premium, but to your point, they're not all that common.

That is really a silly thing to pay extra for, you could likely make up the weight savings with a battery replacement and you wind up with a much better car in every way with an '01+ targa.

Yeah, if I was looking for a C5, it would be a Z06 and nothing else. $20K for a regular coupe is just insanity. That's C6 territory.
